Puppies everywhere!! It’s SO important to start them early. Why? Early acclimation to grooming can start slow and stress free. Waiting until the puppy is 7 or 8 months old is a much more stressful introduction because potentially we have to remove painful, matted hair which takes much longer. Also this is a typical fearful stage of puppy development and some things which are benign in the process can be perceived as frightening and it’s close to impossible to untrain. Let’s get your puppy started off on the right foot!

Did you get a puppy for Christmas? If so and it’s too young yet for a salon visit this is a fantastic way to set them up for future grooming success. An electric toothbrush simulates both the sound and sensation of being clipped. Look how calm this baby is, that’s exactly what we do the first couple of times in the salon to get them used to being groomed. Early desensitization is key! 💜🐶💜
