FAQs- First Aid Kits!

Lots of bunny homes ask what they should have on hand in case of emergency. ☺ So I thought I'd put together a list of my essentials. There are many things that can go into a bunny first aid kit, but these are my must-haves.

Gloves — Protect your hands and help prevent the spread of harmful bacteria.

Critical Care - A high-fiber, vitamin-packed supplement for rabbits who aren't eating on their own. Especially useful for post-surgery recovery.

Electrolytes - Help support hydration in a dehydrated, sick, or recovering rabbit.

Baby Gas Drops (Simethicone) - Gentle, fast-acting relief for rabbits experiencing active Bloat.

Feeding Syringes - A basic item you'll want nearby for giving supplements, fluids, or medication.

Panacur (fenbendazole) - an anti-parasitic/dewormer which is particularly useful for homes who use outdoor play areas for bunnies. Even with a well kept playpen, wild carrier critters can still come into contact with your play space.

Terramycin - A medicated ophthalmic ointment useful for eye injuries, chronic eye conditions, and secondary infection.

Antibiotics - Not practical for every home, these can be useful to have on hand for bacterial infection, whether from an injury, exposure, or something like an ear infection.
