With the current storms, please save this Hampton Roads / Peninsula / Eastern Shore Wildlife Hotline list in case you need help with a wildlife animal.

Each species and situation requires different care, so it is important to contact a permitted wildlife rehabilitator for guidance.

⚠️ PLEASE DO NOT FEED OR GIVE FLUIDS!
Attempting to feed an animal that is stressed, water-logged, injured, or cold can quickly lead to death.

If you find wildlife in need of help:
• Place the animal in a quiet, dark container
• Provide gentle warmth if possible
• Do not offer food or water
• Contact a permitted wildlife rehabilitator immediately

When reaching out to the hotline, texting is best.

Please include:
📍 Your location
📷 A photo of the animal
📝 A brief description of what you’re seeing

During storms and severe weather we receive a high volume of calls and messages, but someone will get back to you as soon as possible.

If you are outside of this area but in the path of storms, we strongly recommend saving the phone numbers for your local wildlife rescue organizations ahead of time so help is available when you need it.

Wildlife often suffers greatly during severe weather events. Your quick action and patience can make the difference in saving a life. 🐾
