This sweet girl came in for her first kitten visit with Dr. Larson and brought some tiny hitchhikers along: ear mites! 👉
Swipe to see them under the microscope.
Ear mites are common in kittens and spread easily between pets. Watch for head shaking, scratching at the ears, and dark debris that looks like coffee grounds.
When doing an ear cytology, we swab the ear and check the sample under the microscope for mites, yeast, and bacteria, because they can look alike from the outside but need different treatments.
She went home with treatment and happier ears.
