Today is the day. The day that Woods Animal Hospital will close. So many memories, so many good times and sad times. So many laughs. So many tears. I only wish I knew the number of pets and people that have walked through the doors. We've watch so many of your kids grow up and become parents themselves. And when they walk in they look at their kids and go, "I came here when I was little too."
We've seen your new pets and your older pets. As Randy always said, "When we say goodbye to one pet, a new one comes in." He was so right about that.
Thank you all for the memories. Thank you for being there through the good and bad times. Thank you for being my friends and family. - Much love- Tammy

Now, I told you that when I decided what I was going to do I would tell you. They say when one door closes another opens. No, I'm not retiring. I will be working at 11 Thrasher Street come sometime around August. Yes, you read the address right. Dr. Neal, who has worked with us before, will be opening Your Friends at Norcross Animal Hospital at our building. I know that the Woods family will welcome him back and be there to support him. It will be baby steps at first, but we got this. I will keep everyone posted on the opening. It's time to make new memories.

Ok, while the news of us closing is still sinking in, let's have some fun one more time. I would like for each of you to share your favorite memory or memories from the hospital. Here is a couple of mine. Many of you know that Randy and I were married. So to this day still don't. When they find out their faces are full of surprise. And many of you didn't know that we got married in the park and I got dressed for our wedding at the hospital.
Now here is a Randy one. When Randy and Dr. Woods would be in surgery, let's just say someone would be gassy. Guess who?! Doc would always look at the dog/cat and say "Damn you stink!" If he knew he never said.đŸ˜†
Ok, I've started. Your turn. We need these memories to last.

I am asking you all to please take the time to read this and please share.

In 1970/71 a small country hospital was opened in downtown Norcross in the old post office. It wasn't for the money it was for the love of animals. Dr. James Woods built a one of a kind hospital. He was a soft spoken man, but talk to him about golf, fishing or Georgia, you would get your conversation. It was always what does your pet need, ok, thank you and have a good day. People came from all around. Then it became generational families. Then we get to the 80's, and Dr. Woods was looking for help and there was Randy. As the joke has always went, Randy was Docs voice. They were the perfect team. Nothing like them and never again. You got Randy's Georgia Bulldawgs, his jokes, him kissing on the puppies and if you needed a hug, you got it. In the 2000's I started. Randy always said he was the dog person and I was the crazy cat lady. I also became known as the crazy squirrel lady. I didn't have a name. I was Randy's wife, or that lady, or some name that was picked from the heavens. Which for the rest of the day Randy would call me that.
Then Dr. Woods decided it was time to retire. He deserved it. Many years, many clients. New owners, new beginnings. We have had several doctors and employees come through over the years. There have been many changes. Dr. Woods is no longer with us. Randy has been gone a year now. They may have come across as gruff, they were 2 of the beat you would ever meet. But one thing that has never changed, has been all of you.
So as I sit and write this, I have the sad task to tell you that due to the landlord not renewing our lease, Woods Animal Hospital will be closing June 30, 2026. This is a very hard thing to say.
I want to thank each and everyone of you for staying with us. For becoming not only friends but extended family. We have always said, when you first come you are a client, if you stay a while, you become friends, and if you stay even longer you become family. I am so blessed to say I have a huge friend and family base.
I will do my best to get you a copy of your records for you. Please don't send a message through Facebook for your records, please call and leave me a message if I'm not there. If you need them sent elsewhere please let me know where. Please understand that this is hard on us all. But we will get through it. I will try to order medicine for those who need. I am on a time limit. If you need help finding a new hospital, I will do my best to get you to one. If you would like to share this, please feel free.
Thank you to Dr. Woods for starting in my opinion one of the if not the best animal hospital around. Thank you to my Randy, for all of the love, tears, fun, jokes and crazy times. No one will ever fill these 2 men's shoes. You both are missed.
Thank you again to you all for the happy and fun years. I will leave here with my heart full of memories. For all of the memories, both good and sad. Thank you for being my friend and family.
I leave you with this, as Randy always said, and many of you have heard it, "When we say goodbye to one that we love, a new one comes in."

Much love-Tammy
