Heat is everything. A breeding colony is most productive between 85 and 90 degrees, and fertility drops off fast outside that window. Keep the heat source outside the bin, control it with a thermostat, and verify with a thermometer. Warm roaches are productive roaches.

I started a new kit to grow along with you! This one is about 2 weeks old. Started with 5 Adult Males and 10 Adult females. No dead Dubia yet, and we’ve got 50+ fresh Nymphs. If I were feeding a baby Beardy I would feel comfortable feeding off up to 1/3 of the nymphs. But I would still keep 2/3rds to let them grow and expand my colony. The more you keep, the faster your colony will grow!
