October Veterinary Clinic — Welcome Back, Dr. Austin!

We’re excited to welcome Dr. Grady Austin back to Nome Animal House October 12–16!

Dr. Austin is a familiar face around here — he graduated from high school right here in Nome and has returned to work with us as a veterinarian several times over the years. We haven’t had him back since December, so we’re very happy to have him joining us again!

Appointments are available for wellness exams, vaccinations, spay/neuter surgeries, advanced dental care, X-rays, bloodwork, ultrasound, lump removals, allergy treatment, health certificates, and more.

And remember, veterinary care is available in Nome between full service clinics too — our local veterinary team is here year-round providing technician services, diagnostics, telemedicine support, and continued care.

❤️ Help us bring veterinary care back home!

Every visit helps strengthen our local veterinary program. All profits from our veterinary services are reinvested back into the program — expanding our equipment, diagnostics, staffing, and capabilities as we continue working toward our goal of bringing a full-time veterinarian back to Nome.

Contact us for more information about our assistance programs, or to make a veterinary appointment!

🦊 Free Rabies Vaccinations — Monday, September 28! 🐾

In honor of World Rabies Day, we’re offering FREE walk-in rabies vaccinations from 9am–3pm at Nome Animal House!

Rabies is still a very real concern in our region, and keeping our pets vaccinated helps protect our animals, our families, and our community. ❤️

Can’t make it Monday? No worries! Free rabies vaccinations are available year-round on most weekdays by appointment. Just give us a call to schedule.

A big thank you to the State of Alaska Lay Vaccination Program and NSHC Office of Environmental Health for helping make this possible!

Our X-Ray Team is Growing!

We’re excited to welcome Savanna to our veterinary team as our newest X-ray assistant!

Savanna has completed the necessary radiation safety training and received her radiation monitoring badge, allowing her to safely assist our veterinarians and veterinary technicians with positioning patients for diagnostic X-rays.

We’ve also just passed a pretty exciting milestone—more than 500 X-ray exams since our digital X-ray machine was installed in 2020! That represents hundreds of pets who have been able to receive diagnostic imaging right here in Nome.

A big thank you to Dr. Eli Butler for providing veterinary care during our September clinic, and to our veterinary team for another busy week!

SAVE THE DATE: Our next veterinary clinic is October 12–16 with Dr. Grady Austin!

Give us a call or email to schedule an appointment.

Let’s bring veterinary care BACK home! 🐾
