🇺🇸🐾 September 11 — We Remember 🐾🇺🇸

Today, the Santa Cruz Humane Society joins our nation in remembering the lives lost on September 11, 2001, and honoring the incredible courage of everyone who answered the call to help.

Among those heroes were hundreds of search-and-rescue dogs who worked alongside their handlers in the aftermath of the attacks. Through the rubble and devastation, these remarkable K9s searched tirelessly, provided comfort, and brought hope during one of our nation’s darkest moments.

They remind us that heroes come in many forms—some wear uniforms, and some leave paw prints. 🐾❤️

Today we honor the victims, the first responders, the volunteers, the K9 teams, and all whose lives were forever changed.

We remember. We honor. We will never forget. 🇺🇸

Apparently, regular sticks are beneath him. Gordo showed up with the XL, heavy-duty, professional-grade branch. 😂

He’s very proud of his contribution and would like everyone to know he worked very hard to find it. 🤎

10/10 good boy. 0/10 understanding of the word “small.” 😂🐾
