For those of you who don’t know, I was living my best life at doggie daycare (my happy place) when i ran into the fence and hurt my back right leg.
After 6 weeks of conservative treatment, meds, X-rays etc, I am still limping. So, Dr K and mom decided I need to see a doggie surgeon.
Mom freaked out (shocker, NOT!). Mom told me it’s going to cost A LOT of $ to get my knee fixed so I can get back to my old self.
We saw the surgeon yesterday, he was super nice. I actually didn’t try to leave like I do when mom takes me to see Dr K. He told mom I tore my ACL. Mom tells me that happens in humans too! And she works where they fix humans who tear theirs!
So, I’m scheduled for surgery 9/25. Mom is working diligently to raise money to pay for my surgery. She tells me so many of our friends have contributed to the cost!! Thank you!! We feel so blessed.
Mom gets emotional when she talks about how many friends have helped, even people we don’t know!! She says her MommaP friends are so generous and awesome. She also talked about her “cancer friends” being generous and caring as well. If you doggos don’t know who cancer friends are, they are people who are or have battled cancer. Cancer is a bad disease mom tells me. I know I’ve had to give her extra love since she found out she had it last year. The treatment has made her really sick too. She had surgery on her liver 8/18 to remove more of that nasty C stuff. So, she’s home all day with me, that makes me very happy.
Mom tells me we’re more than half way to our goal ($4500) to pay for everything. Wow!! You humans rock!! Mom’s Venmo is -hiatt-4 if anyone wants to help. Mom says every little bit helps!! Mom also said if anyone wants to help and pay the doggie surgeon directly, message mom (Jackie Bradford Hiatt) and she can give you the information.
Mom says thank you for keeping us in your thoughts and prayers. They’re so appreciated.
