🐾 Longer than usual post, but please take a few minutes to read! Our fundraiser is in its final 2 weeks, and the Monster Mash event is scheduled for Friday (donations are accepted until 10/23). We are SOOO appreciative of everyone who has donated money, and we are currently at 75% of our school goal. Remember, if we meet our goal of $10,000, we will not have any other fundraisers this year!
❓️We have had several questions regarding what we use this money for, and just wanted to clarify. 100% of the money raised for the PTO fundraisers benefit our students. In the past few years, we have been able to fund large projects for our school, such as:
🎤 New curtains, risers, and a sound system for our stage, so students can participate (and be heard) in school performances and the annual talent show.
🛝 Upgrading our playground with new equipment, including a ten spin, gaga pit, and swings.
🖌 Painting the playground so students have designated areas for kickball, basketball, four square, bean bag toss, and an obstacle course.
💵 These large projects are in addition to our normal budget expenses, which include money for:
> Each teacher to spend on classroom supplies
> 5th Grade Graduation
> Teacher Appreciation Week Food and Prizes
> Robotics Program Sponsor
> Field Day
> Fun Activities, such as PTO Meetings, Dances, and treats for students throughout the year
🎲 This year, the goal for our fundraiser is to raise money to provide Indoor Recess Games and Activities for all classrooms, making our school look nicer with some small beautification projects, and providing safety signs for the dropoff and pickup areas.
🏫 As you can see, PTO makes a huge effort to provide resources to students and teachers at our school. We understand that, financially, things are not easy right now (we are all parents with our own families too), but we try to make this fundraiser reasonable by asking that each student raises $40. This does not mean we expect parents to give $40, but rather reach out to family, friends, and coworkers to ask for donations for your child's school. Money can be brought to school or donated online. We truly believe that Nitro Elementary School is the BEST, and we would appreciate the support from all families so we can continue providing the resources our students and teachers deserve! Thanks again to all who have donated, and we are so excited about our Monster Mash Friday!
