Today our hearts are broken.

We were devastated to learn of the passing of one of our longtime clients, a sweet little boy who has been part of the Ultimutt family for many years. Watching our clients grow with their families is one of the greatest privileges of what we do, and saying goodbye is never easy. There have been so many pets that have passed already this year and it is so heartbreaking 💔

Nugget was known everywhere for his sweet and happy ways, he always participated in the wiener race for the Fourth of July here in Niles and he had a personality to make you laugh.

To us, he was more than a client. He was a familiar face we looked forward to seeing, a beloved companion, and a special member of our extended family. We will miss him more than words can ever express.

To his family, please know that our hearts are with you during this immensely difficult time. We know you have lost more completely than most people will ever know. Thank you for sharing him with us all these years; we are honored to have known him, cared for him, and loved him.

Run free, sweet boy. You will always be remembered and always be loved 🌈❤️

Once again, we just want to get the word out about these two incredibly adorable dogs. As you can see, they are very well behaved and calm in a household. Their temporary foster will be up soon and to see them have to go back to the pound is heartbreaking. If you have it in your heart to be able to open up your home to these two that are inseparable, it would be amazing 🥰🐾❤️

🚨 URGENT 🚨

Murdock and Electra are currently in a TEMPORARY foster home while Murdock finishes his meds for pneumonia, and we’re really hoping they don’t have to go back to the kennel once this is over. 💔 They deserve to go straight into a home. Look how comfortable they look. 😭

Murdock is 2 years old, 60 lbs, and fully vetted. He is housebroken and honestly the easiest guest! He’s gentle, loyal, and happiest resting his head right on your chest like he’s always known you. He is dog-friendly but seems to prefer females.

Electra is 2 years old, just 8 itty-bitty lbs., and fully vetted. She is playful, sweet, and happiest wherever her brother is. She’s still working on potty training, but she does use p*e pads and is trying. She is dog-friendly as well.

They both love kids, do well in a crate overnight, and settle nicely in their crate when left alone.

These sweet babies don’t need much—just a home together, where they can finally stay safe, comfortable, and loved.

Today, we pause to remember and honor the brave men and women who gave everything for our country.

Memorial Day is more than a long weekend — it is a day of reflection, gratitude, and respect for those who made the ultimate sacrifice so that we may enjoy the freedoms we have today.

From all of us at Ultimutt, we thank and honor the heroes who served, the families who carry their legacy, and all who continue to remember them.

I want to take a moment and say how beyond thankful I am for the incredible girls who pour their hearts into grooming every single day at the salon 🥰

The dedication, patience, talent, and genuine love they show to every pet that walks through our doors does not go unnoticed. Grooming is so much more than a haircut or a bath — it takes compassion, trust, attention to detail, and an endless amount of care to make every pet feel safe, comfortable, loved, and beautiful.

Every long day, every wagging tail, every nervous puppy comforted, every senior pet handled with extra gentleness, and every little detail perfected is a reflection of the passion they have for their craft.

To my amazing team: thank you for the hard work you put in each and every day. Thank you for treating every pet like family. Thank you for the love, pride, and dedication you bring to this salon. I truly appreciate everything you do, and the salon would not be what it is without you. 🖤🐾💚

🤫 And to my mysterious bather… we know you’re somewhere in the salon hiding from every camera possible like it’s a full-time position. 😂 Somehow every photo turns into a blurry arm, the back of a smock, or a disappearing act worthy of an award.
