The knowledge we have is not ours alone.
We didn't invent it. It was shaped by the teachers who came before us, the people who took the time to share with us, and the experiences that taught us along the way.
And when we pass that knowledge on, we learn it more deeply ourselves.
I stumbled across this old photo the other day, and it made me think of the Joseph Joubert quote:
“To teach is to learn twice.”
I don't think of myself as a master of anything. I'm simply happy to share what I've learned along the way, knowing that much of it was once shared with me.
And one of my greatest joys is watching young people begin to do the same—passing along what they know, helping someone else, and in the process, deepening their own understanding.
Knowledge was never really meant to stop with us. 💙
