👏 Applause, applause for Susan Powers! 👏

The Kentucky Equine Adoption Center is proud to congratulate Susan, our Educational Specialist and Administrative Assistant, on being named a finalist for the Dr. J. David “Doc” Richardson Community Award, sponsored by Churchill Downs!

Susan was honored Tuesday evening at the Thoroughbred Industry Employee Awards ceremony, joining an outstanding group of finalists whose dedication and contributions make a meaningful difference throughout the Thoroughbred industry.

For Susan, this recognition is about more than an individual achievement. It’s an opportunity to shine a spotlight on the mission of KYEAC and the important work being done every day to give Kentucky’s neediest horses a second chance. Through education, advocacy, and compassionate care, Susan helps bring our mission to life and gives a voice to the horses who need us most.

Susan, thank you for your dedication to our mission and for the heart you bring to your work. We are so proud to have you on the KYEAC team and grateful to see your contributions recognized in such a meaningful way!

Please join us in congratulating Susan on this well-deserved honor! 💙🐴

🏆 A Landmark Achievement for the Kentucky Equine Adoption Center!

We are incredibly proud to announce that the Kentucky Equine Adoption Center has been named the 2026 Outstanding Equine Rescue by the Global Federation of Animal Sanctuaries (GFAS), an international organization dedicated to excellence in animal sanctuary and rescue care! 🐴💙

This prestigious international recognition is a tremendous honor for KYEAC and a meaningful affirmation of our unwavering commitment to equine welfare. It reflects the dedication, compassion, and hard work that go into giving horses in need the opportunity for a healthier, happier future.

Since our founding, KYEAC has remained steadfast in its mission: creating second chances for Kentucky’s equines through care, retraining, and adoption. Every horse who arrives at our gates represents a life worth fighting for, a story still being written, and an opportunity to make a lasting difference. We advocate for horses who cannot speak for themselves, providing the care, patience, and support they need to find their next chapter.

This achievement belongs to the entire KYEAC community—our dedicated team, devoted volunteers, generous donors, committed partners, and everyone who believes that every horse deserves a chance. Your trust and support make this work possible, and this honor belongs to all of you.

We are deeply grateful to GFAS for this distinguished international recognition and proud to see KYEAC’s commitment to equine rescue and welfare honored on an international stage. Most of all, we remain focused on the work ahead: helping more horses heal, thrive, and find loving homes.

Thank you for standing with us and believing in second chances. Together, we are changing the future for horses, one life at a time. 💙🐴
