We have puppies coming, very very soon!

This is the final Happy x Pepper cross! She will be spayed in a couple months and become the permanent “Auntie Pepper” and Alpha Mom to the pack 🫶🏻

“Peter”

Peter was one of Jesus’ first disciples, a fisherman that Jesus called and renamed from Simon to Peter (“rock”). He’s loud, impulsive, very “act first, think later” — he’s the one who walked on water for a second, cut off the soldier’s ear, and also swore up and down he’d never leave Jesus… then denied him three times the night of the arrest.

After the resurrection Jesus restores him (the “do you love me?” three times) and Peter ends up leading the early church, preaching at Pentecost, getting thrown in jail, all that. So Peter was: bold, messy, loyal, screwed up loudly but kept coming back.

“Paul”

He started out as **Saul**, a super intense Jewish Pharisee who basically hunted early Christians and had them arrested. Then on the road to Damascus he had a wild encounter where Jesus appears to him, he’s blinded for a few days, and it flips his whole life — he becomes a follower of Jesus instead of a persecutor.

After that, he goes hard in the opposite direction: travels all over starting churches, gets beaten, jailed, shipwrecked, all of it, but keeps going. Most of the letters in the New Testament (Romans, Corinthians, Galatians, Ephesians, etc.) are Paul writing to churches or people, teaching them how to follow Jesus.

“John”

John was an original part of Jesus’ inner circle (Peter, James, John). He’s the one called “the disciple whom Jesus loved,” the one leaning on Jesus at the Last Supper, and the one Jesus literally trusts with taking care of his mother at the cross. That fact alone speaks volumes for John’s character and loyalty.

“John” is now “Roscoe” and has found a home 🫶🏻

Introducing our Easter Litter!

“Martha”

Martha is the sister of Mary and Lazarus. They all lived in Bethany and were really close to Jesus — like “he hangs out at their house” close, not just random followers.

When Lazarus died, Martha is the one who goes out to meet Jesus first. She tells him, “Lord, if you had been here, my brother wouldn’t have died,” but she ALSO says she still believes God will give Jesus whatever he asks. Then Jesus tells her “I am the resurrection and the life,” and she makes this huge faith statement that she believes he’s the Messiah.

Right before the crucifixion, they have a dinner for Jesus. Lazarus is there, Mary is the one anointing Jesus’ feet with perfume, and it specifically says Martha is serving.

Overall: Martha was a loyal friend of Jesus, practical, service-minded, sometimes stressed, but with really strong faith under all that.
