“What did you do this weekend?”

Nicki and I attended the Lexington dog show! We found one of our fabulous friends who was showing Aussies and decided to jump in and help a where we could! Grooming dogs is incredible- not only do we get to pamper our clients pets but we get to help friends chase dreams (and a ribbon or two!) 💙

Here’s a quick recap to keep in mind:
• Reschedules with less than 48 hours’ notice may incur a fee.
• No-shows are charged 50% of the scheduled service.
• Please drop off no more than 10 minutes before your appointment time.
• Please pick up within 20 minutes of our automated “ready” call or message.
• Late pick-ups are charged a $25 daycare fee for the first hour, then $25 per additional hour, prorated by the hour.
• Current rabies and distemper/parvo vaccines are required.
• All pups must be on effective flea prevention; a $30+ flea fee applies if fleas are found during the appointment.
• Matting fees begin at $25 and increase based on severity, time, and extra care required.
• Severely matted coats can carry risks, including skin irritation, nicks, bruising, clipper sensitivity, and the discovery of underlying skin concerns.
• Behaviorally challenging pups are welcome, but may require an increased rate and scheduling with a groomer best suited to their needs.
• We will always choose humanity over vanity—your pet’s comfort and safety come first.

I believe in two things first and foremost. Safety and humanity over vanity. I will always pick keeping a dog comfortable and doing what is best for them opposed to what is aesthetic. Their health and comfort is my biggest concern. That is why so many of you have found me!

Sometimes a coat may be more tangled, compacted, or difficult to work through than it appears at drop-off.
Matting can pull painfully on the skin and can hide irritation, moisture, sores, fleas, bruising, or other skin concerns underneath. For a severely matted coat, attempting to brush it out will be more uncomfortable, more damaging and highly unfair, than clipping it out.

Matting fees begin at $25 and increase depending on the severity of the matting, the time required, and the extra care needed. While we always use safe handling and grooming practices, removing tight matting carries unavoidable risks, including skin irritation, nicks, bruising, clipper sensitivity, and the discovery of pre-existing skin conditions. We will always do our best to communicate concerns and recommend the safest path forward for your dog.

I also understand that grooming can be stressful for some dogs. Nervous, reactive, or behaviorally challenging pups are still welcome here! However, they require additional time, handling, and planning to keep both them and our team safe. These appointments are scheduled only with groomers who are best equipped for their individual needs and are charged at an increased rate to reflect the extra care, time, and safety measures involved.
This is never about passing judgement or making anyone feel bad—life gets busy, coats get away from us, and some pups simply have a harder time with grooming than others. Just like people!! Our goal is to meet each dog where they are, keep them as comfortable as possible, and create a realistic plan for a healthier, more manageable coat moving forward. Short can be super cute too!

Vaccines and Fleas🐾

The health and safety of every pup in our care is always our top priority.
Because we work closely with several dogs each day, we require all clients to keep their dogs current on their rabies and distemper/parvo (DHPP/DAPP) vaccinations.
We also ask that every pup arrive on an effective flea prevention program. Fleas can spread quickly in a salon environment, and one untreated dog can affect other pets, our equipment, and our space. If fleas are found during an appointment, additional fees will apply for the extra time and sanitation needed to protect the salon and the dogs following them. Not only are fleas gross but they carry diseases and parasites that no one wants to take home as unexpected guests!

Please make sure vaccine records are up to date and let us know if there are any health concerns before your appointment.

Pick-Up & Drop-Off Times:

Our appointment schedule is carefully planned so every pup receives the individual attention, care, and calm grooming experience they deserve.
Please plan to drop off no more than 🐾10 minutes🐾 before your scheduled appointment time. Arriving too early can interrupt the grooming time and space reserved for another dog already in our care.
Once your pup is finished, you’ll receive an automated call or message. We ask that all pups be picked up within 20 minutes of that notification.
Timely pick-up helps us keep the salon safe, comfortable, and running smoothly for every dog and our team.

If your pup is not picked up within that window, an extended care fee will apply:
• $25 for the first hour of late pick-up
• An additional $25 per hour after that, prorated by the hour

We are not able to provide extended care unless it was scheduled and approved with your groomer at the time the grooming appointment was made. Daycare cannot be added the day of the appointment.
