Griffin has found a home with one of my previous puppy families 🤗 they have a pup from my very first litter 4 years ago!

My heart goes out to his previous home for making the very difficult decision to place him due to their health concerns, but we are very happy to have found him a great, safe place to land 💚

One of our Sawyer x SoBe pups is looking for a new home. He is an awesome boy, but his owner has had some health issues pop up and she wants to be sure he gets the care he deserves. He is the pup we had that dislocated his hip at 6 weeks old, but he's done very well with getting around. Please message if you are interested in a pet home puppy!

Griffin is 8 months old. When he came to us last fall I didn’t know about the health issues I’d be dealing with. I just don’t have the time and energy that he deserves. He’s eager to please and learned quickly when I did spend time with him early on.
He dislocated his right hip when he was 6 weeks old before he came to us. It has healed well, but not completely normal. It sure doesn’t slow him down! I will post a video in comments. Another X-ray at about a year old would be good to see how it looks.

Sawyer eagerly awaiting more friends to come through the front doors. We are at our local vet tech college program, where we are getting vaccine boosters, 4dx testing, and routine bloodwork drawn. He is loving all of the attention he gets from the students coming in and out.

I see so many breeders stressing over non-standard colors in MAS, yet skipping full health testing. Honestly, if you’re breeding pets — not proven show or working dogs — color should be the last thing on your mind.

Puppies that are ee “yellow” or dilute colors aren’t unhealthy by default. Sure, dilute color alopecia (CDA) can happen, but it’s rare in MAS compared to shorter-coated breeds. The same goes for breeding specifically for blue eyes — color shouldn’t come before health.

We’ve never bred for color and never will. We love the surprise of each litter and every puppy that arrives. If you’re going to be picky about color, make sure your health testing is more than just the bare minimum — and expect the same from any stud you use.

I’ll always choose producing an “off-color” puppy over skipping tests that could help set them up for the healthiest life possible.

This was brought on by seeing negative comments about another breeder who produced yellow MAS puppies — even though their dogs are fully health tested. Meanwhile, some of those criticizing only have basic DNA panels done. 🙄
