Beautifully patterned hen American Black Duck (Anas rubripes).

Hens are so underrated, and it turns out they often have some of the most unusual and intricate color patterns on their bills and feet. It's always a delightful challenge to recreate the unique features of each individual bird.

Because you want YOUR bird back home, the one that tells YOUR story.

Atlantic Common Eider (Somateria mollissima dresseri).

Eiders are not particularly vocal in flight, but they do occasionally open their bills and vocalize while airborne. One interesting example appears in a photograph of a Common Eider in flight with its bill open, published on Ramsey Russell's website, in the section dedicated to New England Sea Duck Hunting (https://www.getducks.com/ushunts/new-england-sea-duck-hunting)

Just another Mallard? Perhaps it's worth reconsidering.

The meaning of a mounted animal extends far beyond the preservation of its physical form. It represents not only a species whose lineage reaches back millions of years, but also holds two stories at once: the animal’s and that of the person whose life intersected with it.

When something so meaningful is entrusted to us, we believe there is only one acceptable approach: to recreate the bird with all the fidelity, elegance, and refinement its condition allows.

In life, these birds were what Christopher Marley Exquisite Creatures so aptly calls “exquisite creatures.” Honoring that beauty is our responsibility, and the result is a piece worthy of a place in your home, your memories, and your story for generations to come.

What are the odds of a BB ending up in a eider’s nostril? Our client wanted this extraordinary shot recreated in his bird, and here it is.

Don’t miss the end for the details.
