This feral cat was brought in by a caretaker in Waterford. He had a damaged infected eye, and infected right upper canine tooth and a fractured socket.
Today, Dr. Carpenter extracted the tooth, treated the eye and neutered. Now he is going back to the caretaker to recover and live a healthier life. Thanks to our FOFF donators for helping pay for services!

Hero has family! Hero, the sweet boy on who we amputated a crush leg, and is happily recovering in a home who loves him dearly had family (cousins? Half sibilings? Children? It’s hard to tell when a colony gets out of control). Some very kind and hard working volunteers have trapped some babies who are socialized due to being fed each day, but in a foster home that will make their personalities shine. We vaccinated them, gave them flea and tick meds, and Dr. Carpenter checked their hearts and ears and GI systems on her kitchen floor with her daughter, Carson, before they went off to foster. We hope to keep you updated on their amazing journey— it’s not always a positive one, but we hope for the best. Please spay and neuter your pets, and trap/neuter/vaccinate/return the ones you find in your neighborhoods. If we all chip in, we can make a dent

Two FOFF Ferals, one recovering today from a left hind leg amputation due to a severe bite wound and comminuted fracture of the ankle. The feeder of this small colony calls him Hero as he survived what probably was a wild animal bite and fracture.
The other is Peach who was trapped many many years ago and lived with a woman until she could no longer take care of her, and now she resides at the Niantic Animal Hospital.

We have been busy! The past few months, we have been helping  a long time cat lover having to leave her house for cats because of dementia. We vaccinated and adopted out the cats to caring homes.
In the past week, four female cats were spayed.
We also took in a feral cat, whose feeder in  Groton noticed for two weeks discolored dragging leg which had infected bite wounds and severe fracture of ankle and foot. FOFF will amputate leg and the feeder  take him back and will  socialize and give him a home. We are grateful for Niantic Animal Hospital for donating their space to us, and we are always grateful for the donations we continue to receive from all of you to cover our costs!

Thanks to Robin and Lisa volunteering tech time and Eva and Shelley and Brian for trapping, fostering to socialize and bringing in cats on Saturday morning, May 30. We neutered two  and spayed two- all ferals that were trapped, and two of the four have homes! Up for adoption! This sweet boy was trapped with his feral mom and siblings and is looking for a home. Only eight weeks old, so not yet neutered, but we can make that happen as part of the adoption when he’s old enough. He is FIVFELV negative.
