It's been a long time with no updates and we're sorry that there hasn't been anything to update until now. We have moved from being stagnant to beginning to move forward again! We don't have a timetable to get officially open yet but updates can come a bit quicker now. 😃

Now that the dust is settled enough to see where we're going, we wanted to give an explination of what's been going on...

It's been a difficult year with Nichy's health. Everything they begin to get better a new issue is coming up. Since we started we were able to rescue 5 red ear sliders turtles, a dozen or more goldfish, an axolotl, and a few other community fish. On December 1st we were given notice that our lease (we had a lease-to-buy contract) was not being renewed, they no longer wished to sell to us, and they wanted us out by the of the month. This includes Olin and Nichy's home as it was a 2 structure peoperty. Legally, they have to give us 60 days but we're pushing for quicker. Olin and Nichy have found a new place to live but the space just isn't an option and having to rush with the costs of finding a new place (and it's the Holiday season) we just can't pay a 2nd rent for a place for the fish and reptiles.

So far we've removed all of the turtles and someone is coming today for several of the fish. Well post soon what's left. Thank you for your continued support!

We have some terrible news everyone. Our lease-with-intent-to-buy has been pulled out from under us. We have to move out ASAP and we will not have room to take everyone with is. Everything we have is free to a good home. Fish, turtles, aquariums, supplies, everything. Please DM Olin Bailey if you want to come get anything.

We finally made it to a REXPO event! We only had a couple hours to be there but it was a great time! Chatting with Caveman Critters, who is local to us, and someone dropped on him a chemeleon that needs some TLC. He was so gracious to transport her back this way for us as we couldnt take her at that moment so we are now happy to welcome Hazel, the Veiled Chameleon to the rescue. We're going to get her mended and give this geriatric girl her best last year or two possible!

Time for another update!

We have a good sized meal worm colony going, we can start selling small quantities.

One of our Kribensis pairs give us a surprise clutch and the little fry are about the size of a grain of rice right now so a little while longer but they're coming along well.

We are still still on track to be open to the public this summer (visits by appointment if you'd like to see what we're up to).

It's been a while since we've posted and update and we apologize. Nichy handles the social media and they've been dealing with some health issues. We are still pushing along getting things ready to open up more.

Along with the turtles getting their upgrade a while back, we've also started a feeder guppy and mealworm colonies. Once they're producing enough, we'll have some for sale. We also should have some Kribensis fry soon!

Other food colonies were looking to add as soon as we can:
Convict cichlids
Earthworms
Dubai Roaches
Black Soldier Fly larvae
Blackworms
Live Brine Shrimp
Ghost Shrimp

Olin and I just watched this. We strongly encourage everyone to as well. It is eye opening and heartbreaking. I had tears in my eyes but it's so very important to the entire world's ecosystem. If we (all humans) can't figure out how to correct this, the cascading effect will destroy the planet we all love so much.

As the rescue grows, we will share more ways we all can help save our home.
