Happy primate day, everyone.❤️

Happy International Primate Day!

Here is a fun one primate fact that might surprise you from our All But Not All series.

ALL Apes are Monkeys but NOT ALL Monkeys are Apes.

While "monkey" is not a scientific term, it is used commonly, and essentially can be argued that it is a synonym for the infrorder Simiiforms, which includes monkeys and apes.

So the Sumatran Orangutan (Pongo abelii) is both a MONKEY and an APE. While the Popa Langur )Trachypithecus popa) is certainly a MONKEY, but not an APE.
