You know that pull on the leash when you approach our salon?

That's not nothing.

Dogs don't fake excitement. They don't pretend to like a place to be polite. If your dog is dragging you toward the door before you even get out of the car, it means something clicked for them at some point. This place is safe. These people are good. I want to go in.

That's what we work toward at Groomer Has It. Not just a clean groom, but a dog who actually feels okay being here.

It takes time with some dogs. A few calm appointments, a slower pace, a little extra patience. But when it happens, it's honestly one of the best parts of this job.

One-on-one grooming in a cage-free salon means your dog is with the same familiar face from the moment they walk in to the moment they leave. No chaos, no cages, no strangers. Just a calm space and people who genuinely love the dogs they work with.

Post-groom energy is a real thing and we are fully here for it.

There's something about a fresh bath, a clean coat, and a little extra attention that just does something to dogs. Some leave strutting. Some leave suspicious. Some leave like they are Tom Cruise and the fate of the world depends on getting home immediately.

We see all kinds here at Groomer Has It. Nervous dogs, wiggly dogs, senior dogs, doodles with opinions about the dryer. Every single one of them gets one-on-one attention from start to finish in our cage-free salon.

And most of them leave with that same energy. Freshly groomed, comfortable, and apparently very busy.

One thing people don't always realize about grooming?

A lot of it is a conversation, and the dog is the one talking.

Not with words, obviously. But through body language. Weight shifting. Ear position. Breathing. Whether they lean into the brush or pull away from it.

A good groomer is reading all of it, the whole time.

That's what helps us decide when to pause, when to keep going, when to change our approach, and when to just… slow down and let them breathe for a minute.

It's not always visible from the outside. But it's happening at every single appointment.

That's what we mean when we say grooming is about more than the haircut.
