Perfect Pooches Dog Training, Boarding, & Rehabilitation in Northern NJ. Give us a call for more information! We can help.

Perfect Pooches offers a variety of fun solutions for you to get your dog to just plain listen! Have you tried other methods that haven't given you the results you wanted? The ForceFree Method™ is an intuitive system of training that makes sense to both people and dogs. Effective and gentle, the training method works WITH the dogs instincts rather than against them. We achieve off leash reliability, even with distractions, amazingly fast. Most dogs perceive the training as simple "pack cooperation" and play. Therefore, they quickly shed rebellious behavior, and give you more focus than you imagined possible. Doesn't that sound like more fun than correction after correction?

🐾 BREED SPOTLIGHT: Finnish Lapphund!
*
Ever seen one of these fluffy faces before?
*
They may look like the ultimate cuddle buddy, but Finnish Lapphunds are intelligent working dogs originally bred to herd reindeer in the Arctic! 🦌❄️
*
Basically: adorable cloud + working-dog brain = one very interesting pup. 😂
*
Would you add a Finnish Lapphund to your family?

Is your dog trying to tell you something?
*
Dogs don’t always show stress by barking or running away.
*
Sometimes it’s a subtle look, a crouched posture, sweaty paws, shaking off, excessive sniffing, or even scratching. 👀🐾
*
Learning to recognize these little signals can help you understand when your pup needs more space, a break, or a little reassurance.
*

Why do we even bother buying them nice things?
*
And our dogs are like: “Cool. Anyway… can I have that sock?” 🧦😭
*
Because apparently the $30 toy is boring, but a random stick from the backyard?
*
Absolutely priceless.
*

Are treats adding up?
*
In honor of National Pet Obesity Awareness Day, let’s remember that treats can be a great training tool, but those “just one more” moments can add up quickly! 😅
*
Keep your pup moving, make training part of their routine, and mix in other rewards like praise, play, pets, and attention.
*
A healthy dog isn't just about what goes in the bowl, it’s about the habits we build every day!

Kinda chic… caring about the little things that make a BIG difference in your dog’s life.
*
Good dog parenting isn’t about having a “perfect” dog.
*
It’s about understanding them, teaching them, paying attention, and giving them the skills to confidently navigate the world. 🐾
*
Basically… being a little obsessed with your dog is very chic.

From energetic Husky to calm, confident companion! 💙
*
We love hearing about transformations like this!
*
After training with Tim and Perfect Pooches, this energetic Siberian Husky learned to go to his bed and stay there until called off, a huge step toward better manners and reliable obedience. 🐶👏
*
Thank you for the amazing review and for recommending Perfect Pooches for both training and boarding!

The floor isn't always the problem, your dog's behind might be!
*
Scooting is often a sign that something is irritating or bothering your dog.
*
A**l gland issues are a common cause, but allergies, parasites, skin irritation, or other problems can also be involved.
*
If your dog keeps scooting, licking the area excessively, or seems uncomfortable, it's best to have your veterinarian take a look rather than simply treating the behavior as a training issue.
*

🐾 Is your dog's walk actually giving them what they need?
*
Walking isn't only about burning energy.
*
Sniffing provides mental enrichment, exploring helps dogs process their environment, and short training moments can teach them to stay connected to you despite distractions.
*
Instead of focusing only on distance or speed, try slowing down, allowing safe sniffing, changing your route, and rewarding calm check-ins.
*
The best walk isn't necessarily the longest one, it’s the one where your dog gets to explore, learn, and practice good behavior.
*
📞 Ready to turn those frustrating walks into productive training opportunities?
*
Call Perfect Pooches at 973-670-7450 and let's work on better walking together!
