We want everyone to feel comfortable and confident using our microchip scanning station, so we decided to make a little how-to video to walk you through it!

We’re keeping it real, keeping it simple, and hopefully making it a little less intimidating!

We hope it helps you feel more comfortable using the station and checking for a pet’s microchip.

Say hello to Tinkerbell!! Or Tink for short.

This mature lady is approximately 6 years old and weighs 38 lbs. She came to our facility as a stray and has been a staff and volunteer favorite ever since.

Tinkerbell is spayed, microchipped, and has all age-appropriate vaccinations. She is also heartworm negative, walks well on a leash, and is mostly housebroken. We don't know what her backstory is, but Tink is an absolutely wonderful dog.

She is possibly a Pit/Shar-Pei mix, who has the sweetest disposition. She loves people and all the attention that she can get. Tinkerbell seems dog friendly, but meet and greets are required to make sure all parties get along.

If Tinkerbell seems like a perfect fit for your family, come by the shelter, and our staff will be happy to get her into one of our play yards, so you can meet her for yourself, and see just how special this beautiful girl can be.

Introducing one of our staff favorites, this is the wonderful Rocky! Rocky has been with us since May and in that time, our incredible vet staff has been working diligently to get him adoption-ready! He came to us with an injured eye and a huge heart looking for love. Even with his eye giving him some trouble, he never stopped being a sweetheart to everyone that interacts with him.

Our best guess is that he's around a year and a half old, and he's a perfect schmedium size where he's comfortable to hold but not teensy tiny. He came in as a stray, so we don't know much about his time before us, but we know that he's a wonderful little boy.

Rocky is a very playful, very loving kitty. Once he gets to know you, he loves to snuggle up and get as much attention as he can. He also has a lot of energy and enjoys a good run around his kennel or time playing with his toys. He is a very social boy and wants nothing more than a friend to play with him and love on him.

Because he does have issues with his eye, he will need to be checked out by a personal vet once he is adopted and there is a medical waiver that will need to be signed before he leaves the shelter. It doesn't seem to give him any physical discomfort anymore, but it doesn't seem like he can see very well out of it either. We highly recommend if anyone is interested in adopting Rocky that they consider that this is could be a long road with medical bills.

But if you're up for it and looking for someone loving and friendly with crazy soft fur, Rocky just might be your guy!

Say hello to the Awesome Dawson!

Dawson, a neutered brown tabby male with white feet, came to us as a stray but there’s nothing stray about his personality. He’s a youngster, probably about six months old, so he’s out of the true “kitten mode” but definitely not a couch potato cat. Dawson will demand your attention for head rubs and pets, including the everlasting belly rub. Toys will be appreciated to keep his mind active, as well as his feet. After a good play session, head butts may signal nap time, and that will be filled with serotonin inducing purrs.

Dawson has room to grow, as he’s currently a little under five pounds, and we’re sure his size will increase physically and in your heart if you take him to his forever home. Dawson has been combo tested negative, is microchipped, and up to date on all of his vaccinations.

Come see The Awesome One, and all of his friends, Tuesday through Saturday, 11 am to 6 pm. No appointment necessary; just be ready to fall for your new best friend!

KITTENS FOR ADOPTION!

Meet Ricky, Antler & Emerald! 🧡

At approximately 12 weeks old, these sweet babies are officially ready to find their forever families! They came to us as strays, and unfortunately, their first few weeks in our care weren’t exactly smooth sailing. They battled one stomach issue after another and spent weeks receiving medications and extra TLC.

But these little fighters never let it get them down! After plenty of care, patience, and some much-needed recovery time, they are now spayed/neutered, healthy, happy, and READY FOR ADOPTION!

And if you’ve been waiting for your chance to add a sweet little orange kitten to your family… 👀🧡 we have a few!

These babies have worked hard for their happy ending, and now they just need someone to love them forever.

At 6 years old, Polaris is a mature, mellow and affectionate Great Pyrenees who has a wonderfully calm way about him. True to his namesake, he’s our very own North Star—steady, watchful and always quietly taking everything in.

Typical of his breed, Polaris is patient, gentle and wonderfully quiet. He would thrive in a home with plenty of outdoor space where he can stretch his legs and embrace his natural guardian instincts. 🏡🐾

13 dogs. One second chance.

Not long ago, 13 dogs came into our care from a hoarding situation after being owner-surrendered. They arrived scared, nervous, and unsure of the world around them.

But look at them now.

With time, patience, kindness, and a whole lot of love, these sweet dogs have made TREMENDOUS progress.

Some of them are now ready to take the next step — finding their forever homes.

They’re all around 2 years old, weighing approximately 20–30 pounds, with both boys and girls available. They are German Pointer or Dachshund mixes, and while they may still be a little shy at first, they are incredibly sweet once they feel safe.

These aren’t dogs who need to be “fixed.”

They just need someone willing to say:

“I’ll give you time.”
“I’ll be patient with you.”
“You’re safe now.” ❤️

If you think one of these boys or girls might be your perfect match, come meet them. Sit with them. Spend some time getting to know them. Let them show you who they are.

And who knows… you might leave with one. Or maybe two. 😉

Their past doesn’t have to define their future.

Come give one of these sweet souls the forever they’ve been waiting for.
