Pawsitive Outreach Spay/Neuter Clinic March 29th, Metaline Falls
PRESS RELEASE/Pawsitive Outreach Spay/Neutering Advocates
It is spring, at last, and after 'The Winter That Wasn't', breeding season for our beloved companion animals is already in full swing. Pawsitive Outreach Spay Neuter Advocates, (POSNA) in partnership with Dr Laura Talaga at Northeast Washington Spay Neuter Advocates (NEWSNA) have an affordable solution to that problem! They will be holding a spay/neuter clinic at the Metaline Falls Town Hall, 201 E 5th Avenue on Saturday, March 29th for both dogs and cats.
The cost for spaying either a male or female tame cat is $50. Ferals, or at large community cats are $40, including rabies vaccinations and mandatory ear tipping. Dogs under 75 pounds are $100, and those 75 pounds and up are $150, for either a male or female. Vaccinations for animals being altered are $15 each for rabies, 3-way shots for cats and parvo for dogs. Microchips for animals being altered are $25. That is very advisable with fire season right around the corner, you don't want your fuzzy friends getting lost!
YOU MUST GET BOOKED IN TO RESERVE YOUR SPOTS FOR THE SPAY/NEUTER CLINIC. Space is limited, so please call POSNA at your earliest convenience at (509) 671-1427. You do not want to miss out on this limited opportunity. Dr Laura will not be back in the area till October.
There will also be a drop in vaccination/microchip clinic for cats and dogs not needing surgery, starting at 3:30 PM the same day at the same location. Those prices are $20 for vaccinations and $30 for microchips. If you have a current rabies certificate or tag, please bring that as proof so you can get the 3 year rabies shot for your pet.
Your donations are very much appreciated to help defray some of the costs of the clinic and to help with copays for those who can't afford them. That is especially true of those wonderful people who take it upon themselves to help trap and alter the many feral cats found all over the community. Donations can be made in-person at the clinic, or on POSNA's website pawsitiveoutreach.org
Please be a responsible pet owner and do not add to the enormous problem of abandoned animals in our area. One unaltered pet can soon turn into many dozens. We in rescue are very much aware that there are not enough good homes for the dogs and cats who have already been born, let alone for more puppies and kittens. Thank you for joining us in working towards a world with no more homeless pets!
