A few glimpses into a Feel Good Friday full of treats 🍬🍭🍬 from a pawesome young girl celebrating her 6th birthday with donations to us 😭😭 (thank you, Leah!!!!!💖💖) + amazing UC students that came to hang out with us and some tiny new additions today🐈‍⬛🐈‍⬛🎃. It’s got the kittens absolutely zonked, and got us feeling that our spooky season is off to a purrfect start 😈 (even despite the fact that ‘kitten season’ has never ended and the requests for cat and kitten placement have been nonstop this week 💔💔).

🍂🍁It’s the first Feel Good Friday of Fall, and for us here at Protect 4 Paws, it seems that our summertime adoption stalemate is finally starting to shift and things are ‘falling’ 😈 into place- if you will. 🍁🍂

Please forgive us as we continue to obsess over the perfection that is Trouble and his new baby Min Pin sister, Junie B 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭. Just look at this happy boy and his amazing new family that traveled all the way from Pittsburgh for this special guy 💖💖💖!!!

Trouble along with our Lenny (and his emotional support stuffed bunny 🐇!) and our beautiful Bucky all went home this past week, and these magical adoptions been the perfect panacea for the heaviness we’ve felt since losing Corncob and trying to navigate the new reality of his siblings’ medical needs (Cobbler started to develop a cough right after losing Corncob, and initial x-rays showed an enlarged heart 💔, he goes in for an echocardiogram next week).

Thanks so much to all who have donated and shared to help us cover these unexpected costs (Venmo link is still in our bio if you want/are able to give🙏🙏), and thank you even more for continuing to spread the word on our pawsome shelter babies and share in the absolute joy of our wins 💖💖💖.

The only one who might have something to say about it is our Grey BB who maybe now realizes the absolute gem 💎 she had in Lenny all along 👀.

We could never thank the amazing team at Pawpin' Pawz Luxury Mobile Grooming enough!! Zakayla is working wonders, Kristen is performing certified magic, and Parker (proud Protect 4 Paws’ pawrent and photographer extraordinaire) made it all happen!!! Our shelter babes have never looked better 💅🛁✂️!!!!!! 💖

Pawpin' Pawz Luxury Mobile Grooming spent their free time with our shelter babies today-donating their amazing skills and services, and giving these crusty babies all the love. Grooming 🌶️ cats and 9 month old puppies is not for the faint of heart, but they got it DONE (all while being Fear Free certified)!!!!! We are beyond grateful and feelin’ so fresh and clean!!!!!🐾💖🛁💅💖🛁🐾

Coming back from a long ‘weekend’ is hard enough, coming back from a long ‘weekend’ after unexpectedly losing a 1 and a half year old kitten has been heartbreaking.

Over this past week, our little Corncob started to develop what we initially thought was the beginning of a URI. We got him up to the vet, then had to rush him to the emergency vet, and were stunned to learn that he was in congestive heart failure -and had one of the thickest hearts they had ever seen 💔💔💔.

After initially responding well to treatment, and spending some time recuperating with
his brother, Cobbler, at an amazing foster home, Corncob began to rapidly decline Saturday. And as his little lungs filled with fluid and his heart strained to keep up, we were forced to say goodbye.

There is now a Corncob shaped hole in our hearts and an empty space at our side door 💔. We knew our Corncob 🌽 from birth, watched him and his siblings grow, lost their mother to intussusception last Summer, saw him and Cobbler get adopted together only to be returned 6 months later 💔. We’ve known such heartache and joy when it comes to this crew. And for whatever grief we feel, we know his siblings- especially Cobbler- are feeling it all the more.

This Wishlist Wednesday we are asking for donations to these medical bills that came out of nowhere, and to provide diagnostic services to his siblings (Cobbler, Cornelius, and Grumbalina Jr.) as we are now concerned genetics may have played a role in Corncob’s condition (Cornelius was born with a heart murmur ❤️‍🩹).
