Potty Training Done RIGHT 🚽🐕

Want faster, cleaner results?
👉 It starts with structure and consistency.

🎯 Start with a schedule:
• Food
• Water
• Naps
• Playtime

➡️ Take your pup out after EVERY activity ends

✨ Set them up for success:
• Take pup out on leash
• Go to the same potty area every time
• Reward IMMEDIATELY after they go

💡 No potty?
➡️ Back to crate/pen
➡️ Try again in 5–10 minutes

💡 Potty success?
🎉 Celebrate + treat
🎉 Then allow a little free play

🔥 Want next-level results?
👉 Mark the potty action (yes/go potty)
This helps build a potty on cue

🚫 Accidents happen… handle them correctly:
• Do NOT punish or get angry
• They don’t understand after the fact
• Clean immediately with enzyme cleaner

⚡ Catch them mid-accident?
👉 Quick interrupt (“EH!”)
👉 Take them straight outside to finish
👉 Reward when they do

Consistency here = a fully potty trained dog 🙌

To help maintain a smooth and efficient onboarding process, all required paperwork must be completed and returned, along with a copy of your dog’s current rabies certificate, before a meet-and-greet can be scheduled.

For current clients, please send updated rabies certificates prior to your next scheduled service if I do not already have the most current copy on file.

Having paperwork completed ahead of time allows me to focus on getting to know you and your pet during our meet-and-greet and helps ensure all records remain up to date.

🐾 Sunday Training Tidbits 🐾

Crate Training Edition 🏠🐕

This is how *I *crate train my personal dogs and fosters 👇

🎯 Setup matters:

📍 Location:
Place the crate outside of bedrooms
➡️ Living room or front room
➡️ Quiet corner of the space

✨ In the beginning:
• Attach a pen to the crate
• Add a crate cover
• Leave the crate door open

This allows your pup to:
✔ Sleep in the crate
✔ Potty in the pen area (p*e pad)
✔ Eat & drink outside the crate

💡 We’re building comfort and understanding FIRST.

🐶 As your pup progresses:
👉 Start placing pup in the crate with:
• Treats
• Favorite toys

➡️ Close the crate for 1 hour at a time
➡️ Gradually increase duration daily

🏡 Start crating while you’re home
➡️ Then begin crating when you leave

🌙 Overnight transition:
Once your pup is no longer having accidents overnight…
👉 Close the crate overnight

🔥 This creates:
✔ Structure
✔ Independence
✔ A calm, safe resting space

Consistency is what turns the crate into a positive place 🙌
