🐾❤️ A Little Update on Miss Daisy ❤️🐾

Daisy is getting stronger with each passing day! Considering just how sick this sweet girl has been and everything she’s gone through, she is doing remarkably well. She’s still working on rebuilding her strength and putting some much-needed weight back on, but we’re taking it one day at a time and celebrating every little bit of progress.

She has a follow-up appointment this Wednesday, and we’re praying she continues moving in the right direction.

Thank you all so much for the continued love, support, and prayers for our little fighter. She’s come such a long way, and we are so thankful for every day we have with her.

We had a very challenging night with our sweet Miss Daisy. ❤️🐾

She has a lot of irritation in her throat, which is causing symptoms very similar to megaesophagus. Because of this, we have to be extremely careful when feeding her. She is currently on prescription canned food, and unfortunately, she absolutely hates it!

Last night, her blood sugar and potassium dropped again, and I came very close to rushing her back to UT. Thankfully, we made it through the night, and she is doing better this morning. She even ate a couple of spoonfuls of Churu lickable treat, which is a small victory I’ll gladly take!

Daisy slept on my chest throughout the night so I could keep a close eye on her. She still needs to be fed every 2–3 hours, so there’s not much sleep happening around here.

This little girl has fought so hard, and while we’ve come a long way, we still have a long road ahead of us. Every little improvement is a blessing, and I’m so thankful for each one.

Please continue to keep Miss Daisy in your prayers. 🙏❤️ She’s already overcome so much, and I’m praying God continues to give her the strength to keep fighting.

One day at a time, one feeding at a time, and one little miracle at a time. 🐾💕

🐾❤️ DAISY UPDATE — OUR LITTLE MIRACLE GIRL! ❤️🐾

I am so thankful to finally be able to share some wonderful news about our sweet Daisy!

Our little fighter is improving more and more every day! I was hoping to bring her home today, but if everything continues going in the right direction, I will be bringing her home tomorrow! ❤️

Last night and today, Daisy was able to maintain her potassium levels on her own, which is a HUGE milestone! She is now on the lowest dose of dextrose, and they are working on weaning her off completely, using oral support tonight. She is still very weak, but she is finally on the mend!

To say this has been an emotional roller coaster would be an understatement. It has been one of the hardest and most expensive battles I have ever faced with a puppy. There were days when she would take a few steps forward, only to take two steps backward. There were moments when we didn’t know if she would make it, and I had to prepare myself for the possibility of saying goodbye.

But this tiny little girl wasn’t ready to give up! ❤️

Daisy is truly a miracle in my eyes. She has fought through dangerously low blood sugar, pneumonia, sepsis, blood transfusions, and so much more. At just over a pound when this nightmare began, the odds certainly weren’t in her favor.

I cannot begin to express how grateful I am for the incredible team at UT Veterinary Medical Center who have worked so hard to give Daisy a fighting chance.

And to every single person who has prayed for Daisy, checked on her, sent encouraging words, or simply kept her in your thoughts — THANK YOU FROM THE BOTTOM OF MY HEART! 🙏❤️

I truly believe in the power of prayer, and I believe God has had His hand on this little girl throughout this entire journey.

We still have a road ahead of us. Daisy will need lots of love, patience, close monitoring, and time to regain her strength. But after everything she has been through, the thought of finally bringing her home is such a blessing.

From fighting for her life in intensive care to hopefully coming home tomorrow — what an incredible little fighter she is!

Please continue to keep Daisy in your prayers as she takes these next steps toward recovery.

She’s tiny, but her will to live is mighty! 🐾❤️🙏

With love and gratitude,
Watridge Doxies ❤️

Dear Heavenly Father,

Please stay close to Daisy tonight and place Your healing hand over her as she receives her transfusion. Give her strength, help her body accept what it needs, and bring improvement and good news tomorrow.

Grant her veterinarians wisdom and steady hands. Give me peace, strength, and wisdom to make loving decisions, and surround Daisy with comfort, warmth, and love.

In Jesus’ name, Amen. ❤️🐾

Update on Daisy 🐾💗

After receiving a blood transfusion today, Daisy perked up a little and has eaten some today, which I’m thankful for. Every little bit of progress gives us hope.

She will be receiving another blood transfusion tonight. I was told that tomorrow is going to be a very important day. If we don’t see a noticeable improvement after this transfusion, we may have to make the heartbreaking decision to let her go.

I’m praying with everything in me that this second transfusion gives her little body the boost it needs. She has fought so incredibly hard, and I’m going to keep fighting right alongside her as long as there is hope and it is fair to her.

Please continue to keep Daisy in your prayers tonight. Pray that her body responds to this transfusion and that tomorrow brings the improvement we desperately need. 🙏🐾💗

🙏 PLEASE PRAY FOR DAISY 🙏

I wanted to ask everyone to please keep a little 9-week-old miniature dachshund named Daisy in your prayers and, if you feel led, share this so we can get a prayer chain going for her.

Daisy was the smallest puppy in her litter. She and her brother were both tiny, but at some point her brother took off growing while Daisy remained very small. I went back and forth about whether to let her leave at 8 weeks or keep her another week. When she turned 8 weeks on September 26, she weighed only 1.15 pounds.

I ultimately decided to let her go to her new family, who is someone I work with. Because she was so tiny, I recommended continuing soft food for another week to make sure she was getting enough. With a puppy this small, just a couple of missed meals can cause their blood sugar to drop dangerously low.

Unfortunately, Wednesday I received a message that Daisy was at an emergency veterinarian with low blood sugar. Things became very complicated from there. Because of the cost involved in trying to save her, I took over her veterinary expenses and took ownership of Daisy back. I wasn’t going to give up on her without giving her every reasonable chance I could.

On Friday, Daisy was admitted to the University of Tennessee Veterinary Medical Center ICU, where she has remained throughout the weekend. It has been an emotional roller coaster—some encouraging moments followed by some very scary ones.

Tonight, though, we have made a few baby steps forward. And right now, I am incredibly thankful for every one of those little steps.

Please pray specifically that Daisy will begin eating on her own, regain her strength, and become stable enough for them to start weaning her off the dextrose. Please also pray that her blood levels continue to improve and that her little body has the strength to keep fighting.

She’s tiny, but she’s fighting.

I believe in the power of prayer, so I’m asking anyone who sees this to please say a prayer for Daisy tonight. And if you would, share her story and help me start a prayer chain for this precious little girl.
