Hello, everyone. I am having a medical procedure done at the beginning of the week and I will be closed on Monday and Tuesday, August 24 and 25. For anyone who submitted an online appointment request, I will be reaching out to get you on my schedule on a different day as soon as I can. I appreciate everyone’s patience. I’ve been working on building my business this summer to make major improvements on turnaround time and business-client communication. This requires me to hire a second employee but will allow me to fully concentrate on the daily responsibility of being a groomer - which is cutting fur/nails and table training dogs.

I have been blessed to hire someone that I worked with previously. She is helping me organize the business side of things that I just simply do not have time for and I’m training her on how to be a groomer. Once she is fully trained and my business stuff is completed, I will be hiring a reception/bathing assistant to continue the soon-to-be implemented business practices. The goal is to have two groomers, one bather, and one receptionist/bather assistant in my shop. Each groomer in the shop will have and maintain their own client list. The receptionist will actually answer calls and messages same day or day after. I am currently blessed with two amazing employees that have a talent with animals that one cannot train and that care about what happens in my shop just as much as I do. I love my current team and am excited for the right fourth person to join us when the time is right.

Growth is a process and I appreciate the continued patience of my community members and clients. If I forget to schedule an appointment or return a call, it’s not because I don’t care. I most certainly care and I am sorry for the frustration. I’m simply at a point where it’s time to grow or continue to be frustrated because I’m spread too thin in too many directions. I truly appreciate everyone who has stuck with me over the last six years, as well as your patience while I grow as a groomer and business owner.

Speaking of community, let me share what happened at my shop last night (though, I need to preface that I’m not a veterinarian and would not perform anything beyond my scope of practice). A man called incredibly concerned about his dog’s toenail and asked if I would be willing to take a look because all the vet offices were closed. I agreed and told him what time to be at the shop. Before he arrived, I had sent my employee home but then she returned saying her car battery was dead. I don’t have jumper cables anymore and I looked outside too see if anyone was still at Oceana. The man who had called pulled up just then. I asked him if he had jumper cables and he went back to his campsite to get them. While he was gone, my employee asked to pay for his nail trim. He came back, jumped her car, and I fixed the issue with his dog’s nail and provided a complete nail trim that was (to him) free in gratitude for helping my friend/employee. The dog feels a hundred percent better and everyone was able feel positive by participating in an act of service and gratitude. The circle complete with a giant tricolor furbaby gleefully jumping in the center.

This is core value of my business and the reality that I chose to live in: service, gratitude, and safety. For pets and all community members that love them.

🐾 I hope everyone has a blessed weekend. 🐾

When you book a professional groom, you’re not paying for “just a haircut”.
You’re paying for time, skill, safety and care 🐾

Here’s what your dog’s groom really includes:
🧠 Professional assessment
Every groom starts with a visual health check including checking your dog’s coat condition, skin, behaviour, age, health needs and welfare limits. No two dogs are treated the same.

🧴 Prep & bathing
• Pre-groom checks
• Coat preparation & de-matting where safe
• Premium, coat-specific natural shampoos & conditioners
• Proper drying (not rushed — rushed drying damages coats & stresses dogs)

✂️ Skilled grooming work
• Full clip, hand scissor, hand strip or hand-finished groom
• Breed-appropriate or owner-requested styling
• Safe handling throughout including aids
• Adjustments for nervous, elderly or sensitive dogs

⏱️ Time — real, one-to-one time
Your dog is worked on for the full duration of their appointment by one groomer — not rushed, not stacked, not conveyor-belt grooming.

🐕 Behaviour management & welfare care
• Reading stress signals
• Breaks when needed
• Calm, controlled handling
• Knowing when to stop for the dog’s wellbeing

👂 Hygiene details
• Nail trimming - full mani & pedi
• Ear cleaning
• Eye area hygiene - eye bogey removal
• Sanitary trims - poo clinker removal

🧠 Experience & training
Years of hands-on experience, ongoing education, and knowing how to groom safely without causing pain, fear or injury.

🏠 Salon costs & professionalism
Your price also covers:
• Insurance & business rates which are sky high in a high street salon
• A luxury salon with all mod cons including heating, air conditioning, humidity control and full professional ventilation for your pets comfort
• Specialist top quality equipment & maintenance
• Utilities, products & hygiene standards
• Compliance with welfare, health & safety regulations including fire safety, electrical safety, professional body memberships and more

❤️ Most importantly — your dog’s wellbeing
We don’t rush.
We don’t force.
We don’t sacrifice welfare for aesthetics.

That’s what professional grooming actually includes.

🐾 And that’s why grooming isn’t expensive —
it’s skilled, responsible care 🐾

Most groomers actually earn minimum wage. We dont charge nearly enough for the time and skills we have. As an industry we are very undervalued 🐶
