ews, Hampton, Poquoson, and York County, Virginia. This new facility physically embodies each area's dedication to its citizens and to homeless animals. As a result, the shelter will provide necessary resources and services to the citizens of each jurisdiction in terms of education, adoption, outreach, and animal care. These services are represented by the three goals of the shelter's mission: Rehome, Reunite, and Reeducate.

🪽 TEMP FOSTER NEEDED FOR PETEY 🪽

We're looking for a temporary foster for our sweet senior boy, Petey, from June 18–29 while his current foster is out of town.

Petey is everything you could want in a houseguest:

🐾 Housebroken
🐾 Dog-friendly
🐾 Not destructive
🐾 Professional couch surfer
🐾 Certified good boy

We don't have any history with cats, but he's currently living successfully with a smaller Poodle and does well around other dogs.

Petey is a hospice foster due to a mass growing in a difficult location on his neck. However, he's thriving, enjoying life, and doesn't let it slow him down. Please don't let his hospice status discourage you from opening your home to this deserving old gentleman for a short stay.
Ideally, we're looking for a foster located within 30 minutes of the shelter.

Holly is a 1-year-old spayed female American Pit Bull Terrier currently enjoying life in a foster home while she waits for her forever family. Though her story began as a stray, she hasn't let her unknown past dampen her joyful spirit. Instead, she's focused on what comes next—a bright future filled with love, adventures, and a family to call her own.

One thing is certain: Holly LOVES other dogs. In fact, she's a little too friendly at times! She would thrive with a canine companion who enjoys having a playful, enthusiastic best friend around. 🏡🦅💕 : Koko's Adoption Story! 💕🦅🏡

Meet Koko, a proud PRAS alum who found her forever home in August 2018! Since then, she's been living the good life as her family's beloved "snuggle bug"—and apparently their biggest four-legged football fan, too! 🐾🏈

Whether she's cuddling up with her favorite people or cheering on the Eagles from the comfort of the couch, Koko is clearly right where she belongs. Her family has given her years of love, comfort, and companionship, and it's easy to see that she has returned that love tenfold.

A huge thank you to Koko's family for choosing adoption and giving this sweet girl the forever home she deserved. Stories like hers remind us that adoption doesn't just change a pet's life—it enriches the lives of the people who welcome them into their family.

PLEASE keep your pets indoors if possible, leave them at home (even if that store run will ONLY be five minutes) and be sure to keep yourselves and your pets hydrated!

Limit walks to the early morning and late evening (that concrete is HOT).
