Hello everyone,

We want to inform you that the rescue’s work phone has been misplaced or may have been stolen. It has been missing for most of the day, and we are actively working to locate it or determine the appropriate next steps.

If you have contacted the rescue by phone, text message, or voicemail, please understand that our volunteers are not ignoring you. We currently do not have access to the work phone and may be unable to view or respond to messages until the phone is recovered or replaced.

Our founder is also currently out of the office attending to personal matters. We sincerely appreciate your patience and understanding while we work through this situation. We will provide an update as soon as more information becomes available.

Max is a sweet 9-year-old, 24lb senior pup who is ready to find his forever people. This affectionate little guy loves attention and has a wonderful desire to please, making him such a rewarding companion to have by your side. 💙

Max has a playful, fun side, but he’s also the perfect cuddle buddy who would love nothing more than to settle in for a cozy afternoon nap with someone special. 💤❤️ He’s also a great foot warmer — the kind of little companion who makes home feel even warmer and happier. 🏡✨

Max is fixed, current on NexGard, microchipped through 24PetWatch, heartworm negative, and comes with a health certification dated July 17. He is also child, cat, and kid friendly. ✅

Furry haven Inc, needs your help to keep vetting the animals we have in rescue across Hampton roads. We currently have 3 kittens across the water, 3 community cats (feral), chickens, a disabled goose that came in, 2 fancy rats, a bunny, 2 puppies , and a senior dog! Your contribution is tax deductible and helps feed, vet, and buy other supplies for foster homes.

🐾 Max is still waiting… and we are hoping his perfect person is out there. 🐾

Max is our last dog in rescue, and our hearts are really hoping this sweet boy gets the loving forever home he deserves. He is an 8-year-old, 18 lb neutered male Feist mix, and he is the kind of dog who just wants to be close to his people and loved for exactly who he is.

Max is wonderful with dogs, cats, and kids, and he is housebroken, crate trained, leash trained, and knows how to sit. He is not a big dog by any means — he’s a little guy with a big heart. He may take a little time to warm up to new people, but once he feels safe, he shows you just how special he really is.

Max can be a little mouthy at first, but he has NO bite history. He simply needs a little patience, understanding, and a family willing to give him time to settle in and feel comfortable.

As a Feist mix, Max may come with some of the traits people love most about the breed — he’s intelligent, loyal, alert, and deeply devoted to the people he trusts. And because he is 8 years old, Max has likely already outgrown the puppy chaos and is ready for a more peaceful, loving home where he can just enjoy being someone’s companion. Older dogs often bring so much love, gratitude, and companionship, and Max is no exception.

Max is:

✅ Microchipped
✅ Up to date on all vaccines, including Rabies
✅ Current on flea/tick/heartworm prevention
✅ Heartworm negative
✅ Comes with a health certificate

And to help make his transition a little easier, Max will also come with a bed, treats, bowls, and other goodies from the rescue to help welcome him into his new family.
