One of the most amazing things about axolotls is their incredible ability to regenerate!

When an axolotl loses a limb, its body can begin the healing process and form a special group of cells called a blastema. From there, the cells go through a series of amazing steps to rebuild the missing limb—including bones, muscles, nerves, blood vessels, and skin! 🦴

Unlike most animals, axolotls can regenerate complex body parts with very little scarring. 🤯

Nature really made these little aquatic creatures something special! 💕🦎
