Our personalized approach to patient care stems from our very simple philosophy:

Always do what is best for the patient

When the patient’s care and well being comes first, then honesty, integrity and compassionate client care naturally follows. Newport Hills Animal Hospital is a full service animal hospital. We utilize modern advances in medicine including digital radiology, ultrasonography, in

house laboratory, endoscopy, cryosurgery and both CO2 and therapy lasers to provide our patients with the comprehensive care of a large hospital within the personalized setting of a small one. Many of our doctors and staff members have been working together for as long as 20 years. Our belief in the foundational principle of teamwork and our experience with coordinated patient care allows us to provide the safest, most effective treatment available. From the receptionists who welcome you to our office, to the doctors, veterinary technicians and assistants who provide treatment, every member of the Newport Hills Animal Hospital staff works in partnership with our clients: listening to concerns, facilitating decisions and offering guidance to navigate the sometimes complicated treatment process. Whether your pet requires a routine yearly visit for vaccines or an examination, dentistry, surgery or consultation for an involved medical problem, our integrated approach to patient and client care will provide your pet with the personalized care they need. As your primary veterinarian, we will also offer our recommendation for referrals to a specialist when indicated. We offer you our warmest welcome and look forward to a healthy future together.

🦟 Did you know that Lyme disease can affect humans, horses, and dogs? Although the disease has never been confirmed in cats outside a laboratory setting, cats should still be considered at-risk as a preventive measure.

Ticks are mobile parasites and can hitch a ride on clothing, bags, or shoes, so all petsβ€”including indoor-only catsβ€”are considered at risk for Lyme disease and should receive year-round parasite prevention. Protect your furry friend from this debilitating condition by contacting us at 949-759-1911.

Is your dog getting enough physical exercise? Just like people, dogs need plenty of exercise to stay healthy and happy. If your dog is barking excessively, it may be a sign that they need more physical activity. Try increasing your daily walks or hikes, or take up jogging or biking with your furry friend. A tired dog is a contented dog, and a contented dog is less likely to bark.

🐾🧠 Mental stimulation is important for pets of all ages, not just young ones. Encourage your adult pet to learn new tricks, solve food puzzles, and sniff out treats to keep their cognitive function strong well into their golden years.

😺🐢 As pets age, they can suffer from cognitive dysfunction, which is similar to Alzheimer's disease in humans. This can cause anxiety and stress if they forget familiar faces or the location of their food bowl.

πŸ‘πŸ’ͺ Keep your senior pet's mind sharp by providing plenty of enrichment activities. Call 949-759-1911 to talk to your veterinarian about how to keep your furry friend happy and healthy.

Did you know that dogs communicate primarily through body posture and facial expression? It's important to observe their entire body, not just one isolated part, to interpret their non-verbal messages accurately. Consider the context, including their environment and recent events, before drawing any conclusions.
