Many reactive dog owners lose confidence along the way.

Maybe they tried training before and it didn’t go well.
Maybe they’ve watched videos or taken advice that didn’t help.

Over time, they start to wonder if someone else needs to train the dog.

But the reality is that reactive dog training works best when owners learn the process themselves.

Because the reactions happen in real life — on your walks, in your neighborhood, and in everyday situations.

When owners understand how to rewire their dog’s emotions and see change, confidence starts to return.

And that confidence is often the beginning of real change for both the dog and the human.

The best way to do this is by using a structured process that rewires emotions.

Ps. This is a true story of a client that told me she didn’t feel confident training her reactive dog. She said she wanted to do what was best for her dog. I told her I could help but she needed to participate as well. We started with the rewire process, I worked with the dog for 10 minutes and that’s it! She’s done all the other training and takes her dog to the park to practice every day.

If your confidence has been bruised, don’t worry, that bruise will heal quickly when you follow a structured process.

Don’t give up! You’ve got this!!

Reactivity isn’t an obedience problem or a treat problem. It’s an emotional problem.

And emotions can be rewired when exposure is structured controlled.

It worked great for the reactive dog in these pictures. (check the stories for the video).

Hard nights don’t mean the work isn’t working.

Sometimes caring for an anxious dog looks like quiet decisions, couch sleep, and trusting the long game.

I’m in this work with you — not above it.

If this feels familiar, you’re not alone.

If you want to change a reactive dog, then you need to follow a structured process to rewire their emotions.

Doing one or two things isn’t enough.

Real change comes by rewiring how your dog feels, not by controlling the barking.

Change why your dog barks and the barking will stop on its own.

No need to scatter treats, distract, teach to sniff or wait to disengage.

You’ll get the first steps you need in the free 5 Day Course.

Your dog can change when you rewire how he feels.

You’re not rewarding calm behavior, you’re rewiring how your dog feels.

Finn, the dog in this video already told us he was worried. If we don’t know what he’s saying then we’ll miss it and push him past his limit.

Even his avoidance is a signal that he can only cope for so long.

The first step to help a reactive dog is to learn how they communicate so that you can work inside their comfort level.

I created a Free 5 Day Course on Reactivity.
