Chonk and an exercise with a food bowl.

This is a great exercise for any dog, especially those with a tendency to guard resources.

Chonk’s performance is pretty awesome, but the repetitions that made this performance possible happened in earlier, more mechanical sessions.

Be careful working with resource guarders, and consider consulting a professional. If you do, make sure your work begins with developing reliable fundamentals, then adding low level distractions and gradually increasing the degree of difficulty presented to the dog as their performance suggests reasonable.

I love to see Chonk’s enthusiasm to run away from the food bowl when called.
