How cool is this story!

What began as a cycling trip around Taiwan turned into a life-changing journey for one Canadian couple—and one determined stray dog.

On the eighth day of their trip, Miles and Teresa arrived in Hualien to visit Taroko Gorge National Park. While dropping off their gear, they met a small black stray dog. She was gentle and soulful, and after sharing a bit of breakfast, they continued on their way—unaware she had already chosen them.

She followed them everywhere. First to breakfast, then to a 7-Eleven, and then deep into the national park. For 15 kilometers, she ran alongside their bikes through rain and steep roads, refusing to leave their side. Even as they tried not to get attached, it quickly became clear—they couldn’t just walk away.

When she finally grew tired, Miles carried her, tucked safely into his jacket. From that moment on, she stayed with them constantly—on errands, during meals, and even while they camped. That night, she slept just outside their tent, unrestrained, quietly guarding them and still there when they woke up.

They named her Taroko and continued their journey together, adapting along the way—using makeshift crates, negotiating with train staff, and carrying her in a dog backpack. By the time they finished their tour, she was no longer a stray, but part of their family.

With the help of volunteers, vets, fundraising, and caregivers in Taiwan, Taroko underwent medical treatments and completed the requirements needed to travel abroad. She then finally made the journey to Canada.

Now in Toronto, Taroko is settling into her new home, safe, loved, and curious about the world around her—no longer surviving on the streets, but living the life she ran so hard to find. ❤️

Eddie kept Benny’s mom company while we worked on him in the treatment area. Eddie likes certain people. If he doesn’t like you he doesn’t pretend to either. lol !!

THANK YOU: That sweet face 🥹🐾
When Roswell firefighters rushed into a burning home tonight, they weren’t just looking for flames.
They were looking for anyone who might still be inside.
That included one very important family member.
Crews found this sweet dog inside the home and carefully carried the pup to safety, then made sure they were okay before reuniting them with their family ❤️
No one was home when the fire started, and thankfully, no one was hurt.
A neighbor spotted smoke and called 911, helping firefighters get there quickly.
But these photos of firefighters with this pup say it all.
They didn’t just rescue this dog.
They stopped to comfort the pup, too!
Thank you, Roswell firefighters, for taking such good care of this sweet furry family member. 🐶❤️
