UPDATE "Chug Chug Pickles": We are doing fantastic. The day we picked her up she rode on my left shoulder the entire way to Quantico. She is one of the most cuddliest girl. She is spoiled. She is famous in our store everyone is always asking to see her.

Now hiring for part-time Dog Associate positions. Starting pay $11.50/hr with a $ .50 pay increase after 60 days .
*All dog associates must be able to walk/handle dogs of all sizes and temperaments.*

Some of the responsibilities would include daily feeding and care of animals, assisting guests with adoptions, and working alongside volunteers. Must have an enthusiastic attitude, a willingness to work hard, and be a team player. Hours will vary. Must be available to work weekends and holidays beginning at 8 a.m. Applicants will have a background check and drug test before hire, and applicants should be 18 years of age or older. UPDATE "Mater": Hello Charlene,

Hope all is well, and many thanks for reaching out! Time flies for sure, and we are enjoying Ollie (aka Mater) as he continues to grow. He's made a wonderful addition to our home, and has integrated very well with the two dogs. His personality definitely fits the typical "Spicy ginger single brain-celled kitty," and he keeps us on our toes. Every day, he plays in his automatic water bowl, loves to shred toilet paper and paper towels, and has his daily zoomies. Never a dull moment with this little one! He definitely knows when it's meal time, loves his different flavors of wet food, and his wide selection of treats (lickables and temptations crunchy treats). You would think we have a third dog because he likes to beg for a taste of our food! Not a picky eater by any means. 😀

He was neutered last fall and recovered well. Anyhow, we are extremely grateful to have Ollie, and we love him to pieces. Here are some photos of him over the year.

UPDATE "Littlefoot": As tradition, we’re here to share our yearly update on Luna—previously known as Littlefoot. 💜
In May 2017, 9 years ago, we adopted her, and our lives have been so much better with her in it ever since!
She’s still the biggest lover and absolutely adores having siblings. Sadly, her big little sister Moose passed away in September 2024, and her little brother Picasso passed away in November 2025. But in February 2025, her little sister Kima entered our lives, and Luna has loved every second of having a new playmate. The two love to roughhouse and play together!
Luna still loves her walks and hikes, but she’s equally happy spending a lazy day cuddled up. She remains completely frog obsessed and highly treat motivated. 🐸✨
She’s still living her best military brat life and has handled multiple moves like a champ. One of her favorite things is getting to explore new places.
Thank you again for allowing us to rescue her — we absolutely adore having her as part of our family. 💕

Meet Nyra — a tiny tabby girl with a big personality and an even bigger love for life! At just 7 weeks old, Nyra believes every toy is the best toy ever, every lap was made for cuddles, and every cozy blanket is the perfect place for a nap. She’s the kind of kitten who throws herself into playtime with all the enthusiasm in the world, then suddenly flops over in total kitten exhaustion for the sweetest little snooze. One minute she’s chasing fun, the next she’s curled up dreaming of her forever family. Nyra likes just about everything—playing, snuggling, exploring, and being adored (which she makes very easy). If you’ve been searching for a happy, loving kitten to fill your home with purrs, laughter, and endless charm, Nyra is ready to meet you!
