š¢ ATTENTION CLIENTS & OUR COMMUNITY! š¢
We wanted to take a moment to share a friendly reminder about the purpose of Lost & Found Animal pages. We know how much our community cares about animals, and we truly appreciate everyone who takes the time to help a lost or injured pet.
With that saidā¦Lost & Found Animal pages were created to HELP LOST AND FOUND PETS GET HOME. They were not created to become a public courtroom, complaint department, or a place to bash and drag local veterinary hospitalsāor any other local businesses on social media. We understand that having an injured or missing pet is incredibly stressful and emotional. We really do. But posting a one-sided version of a situation and publicly attacking a veterinary hospital or business doesnāt magically make the situation betterāand there is almost always more to the story than what makes it onto Facebook. If you have a problem with a veterinary hospital or another business, pick up the phone and talk to them. Thatās what adults do. š Publicly blasting a business on social media isnāt helping the animal, finding the owner, or solving the problem. Veterinary hospitals deal with difficult, heartbreaking situations every single day. Sometimes we can help. Sometimes circumstances prevent us from doing so. And sometimes the decision isnāt nearly as simple as Facebook makes it sound.
And if you truly want to make a difference for injured, abandoned, and stray animals in our community, hereās where your energy can actually make a difference: ADVOCATE FOR ANIMAL CONTROL IN OUR COUNTY. Our county currently does not have an animal control program, and that leaves a significant gap when injured, stray, abandoned, or unwanted animals need help. Instead of using social media to attack the businesses that are trying to navigate these situations, contact your county commissioners and local officials, attend meetings, ask questions, and advocate for a real animal control solution in our community. That would be a productive use of your voiceāand something that could make a real, long-term difference for animals in our county. š¾
