Now to introduce our newest additions. We have 5 new baby silkie cross chicks that were graciously raised by one of our volunteer's classes at Germain Academy For Academic Achievement. Our chickens are pets but they also produce eggs for us. We sell the eggs locally to help pay for our rescue animals with Mustangs MEND . So these new babies have now taught kids about raising chickens and will continue to help others through their egg production.

We just moved them to their new coop with some of our other youngsters. They love it! And we are in the process of building them a big outdoor run!

We can always use any wood or other building products. And we can always use more chicken feed (either layer or chick starter) and treats like mealworms and scratch grains.

Our chickens also get fresh fruit and veggies daily! This helps them produce the most delicious eggs!

Check out our new chicks!

I’m so sorry to let everyone know that our precious Finn left this world this afternoon. He was in my arms when he took his last breaths. We tried everything we knew to keep him alive but he was behind the curve to begin with. He just failed to thrive.

His mama finally began producing milk today too. 😭 He did have some good bonding time with her and I’m glad he got to be a little goat for a few days before getting his wings. He was weak and small and his little body just couldn’t survive any longer. He never fully suckled and we tried to help him nurse but he couldn’t get the hang of it.

Please please wait until your animals are old enough to breed. Finn’s mama, Fawn, is barely a year old. That means she was pregnant at 5-6 months. She tried so hard to be a good mama but just didn’t have milk right away for Finn.

It’s been a stressful few days but this is how life on the farm goes sometimes. It’s a reminder to me to always appreciate the moment and love people and critters for who they are right now.

My precious little Finnegan, I’m so sorry we weren’t able to keep you on this earth. Rest in peace, sweet baby boy.

Finn, the surprise baby, slept in his “bassinet” in my bed last night. He slept 5 hours between feedings. Pretty good! He is looking stronger but not eating as much as I’d like. But he I still here and seems more lively. Keep praying for his little guy!!!!

Peaches released the hostages…it turns out she only had one in there but baby is BIG!

Please welcome a 4 lbs 2 oz baby buckling to the farm. Our second home born goat baby. We haven’t named him yet.

I’m still deciding whether or not to keep these boys or find them homes. They are my first babies born and I’m so in love but I need more does for milk. 😬🐐

Mama and baby are doing great. Baby is super healthy and strong and walked and nursed immediately!
