What does a dog cost?
Well, that would depend on who you ask and what breed they own. I personally can tell you that they’re expensive and they try to die sometimes which causes unexpected vet bills.
But I wanted to look at just grooming costs. Grooming varies depending on the breed and size. Giant breeds are much more expensive than small breeds because grooming is a very physical job, it requires skill, and large breeds use much more product.
How about the doodles? I was able to look at money spent this year on just doodles. I have multiple great customers who get their doodle groomed on a regular bases, some doodles are bigger than others but the average yearly amount spent on JUST grooming for a wide range of doodles was $400-1200 in just one year!
Dogs in general are a huge commitment. If you’re thinking about getting a dog, keep these things in mind: the bigger the dog, the more everything will cost. If it has curly hair, it HAS to be groomed. Poodle crosses DO shed! No matter what generation they are or whatever breeders tell you… they shed!
Dogs are worth the money in my opinion, I wanted to put it out there that they’re also a huge financial commitment. It is not the people who are in the dog buisness’ fault that you have a dog that is expensive. please keep this in mind, we have businesses to run and our prices cover the cost of the service we are providing. This goes for Veterinarians, Groomers, Boarders, Trainers, etc.
