Last weekend, I judged at the Nebraska taxidermy competition! 🦌 I stayed busy the whole time so I barely took any pics, but here’s a few!

I judged alongside Daniel Meng, Kerby Ross, and Jeff Nelson, all of whom were super great and a pleasure to work with.
Thanks to Shaun and everyone on the board for making it a really wonderful show. And all the super kind folks in Nebraska. One of the friendliest shows I’ve attended!

In a cool full circle way, years ago, Nebraska was the first ever show to ever ask me to judge. I declined at the time, I didn’t feel ready yet, and I wasn’t sure if I even wanted to judge shows period. When I was asked earlier this year to judge for 2026, it felt right! It was an amazing experience and I loved gaining the perspective of a judge. Thanks for the NSTA for putting on a great show!

Installing a leg rod on this mountain lion form 🦁 if I know I’m going to be altering the manikin (I usually do on these big lifesize 😂) I ask for “no rods” in the form when I buy it, and opt for installing it myself! …I learned that the hard way 🫠😅

A beautiful day for giving a mountain lion a bath! 😂🦁 *this is part of the taxidermy process and I do not 🙅🏻‍♀️ recommend washing your mounts at home!!* I always wash my mounts sometime in the drying phase. I usually wash the skin before I mount too!
