Halloween candy and curious cats can be a risky combination. 🎃🍫 Chocolate and other sweets can pose health risks, while wrappers and packaging may pose additional hazards.

If your cat gets into something they shouldn’t, don’t wait for symptoms before seeking veterinary guidance. Galaxy Cats Vet Center offers same-day urgent care during our regular open days for unexpected feline health concerns. 🐱

Not every cat is a fan of dressing up, and that’s perfectly okay!

Costumes can feel uncomfortable or stressful for some cats, especially if they restrict movement or feel unfamiliar. Watch for signs like hiding, flattened ears, or tail-flicking, and let your cat’s comfort guide the celebration. 🧡

Sometimes, the best Halloween look is no costume at all! 👻

Fall in Washington means cooler, damp days, and cats are experts at finding the coziest spot in the house. 🍂🐈

Keep fireplaces and space heaters clear of beds and blankets, use a fireplace screen, and never leave heat sources running unattended. Senior and thin cats may seek out extra warmth, so a pet-safe heated bed that they can easily move away from can be a cozy alternative. 💙

It’s National Veterinary Technician Week! 🐱💜

Our veterinary technicians do so much behind the scenes to keep every feline patient comfortable, safe, and cared for. From gentle handling and patient monitoring to diagnostics, treatments, and plenty of reassurance, they help make each visit better for cats and their families.

We’re so grateful for everything our vet techs do. 🐾

A constantly full food bowl can make it surprisingly easy for cats to eat more than they need. 🐱 Measuring meals and choosing portions based on your cat’s individual needs can help support a healthy weight.

Nutrition is an important part of feline wellness, and small changes can make a meaningful difference over time.

Cats are full of surprises, even down to their bones and taste buds. 🐱✨

The lie is #3! Cats actually have far fewer taste buds than dogs, and they lack the receptors needed to taste sweetness. Meanwhile, their flexible skeletons help make all those gravity-defying cat moves possible.

Cats naturally have a lower thirst drive, which can make hydration especially important. 💧🐱 Fresh water, moisture-rich food, and a cat fountain may all encourage better water intake.

Keep an eye on changes, too. Drinking noticeably more or less than usual can sometimes signal an underlying health concern.
