✨ Employee Spotlight: Crystal ✨

Our clinic Ninja!!! 🥷

Although Crystal isn’t originally from Oklahoma, she has proudly called it home for the past 8 years. She graduated from the Veterinary Technology Program at Oklahoma State University in 2017 with dreams of working in large animal medicine. Life had other plans, and since graduating she has dedicated her career to small animal practice — and we are so thankful she did!

Crystal has been part of the Halo family for 3 years and is always willing to jump in and help wherever needed. Whether she’s loving on puppies, brushing out a fluffy patient, or helping the team during a busy day, she always brings hard work, laughter, and compassion to the clinic.

Outside of work, Crystal stays busy with family activities, hobbies, and all the adventures life brings her way.

We are so lucky to have Crystal as part of our team! ❤️🐾

☀️ HOT WEATHER WARNING FOR BRACHYCEPHALIC BREEDS ☀️

Flat-faced breeds like Bulldogs, Pugs, French Bulldogs, Boston Terriers, Shih Tzus, and Persian cats are at a much higher risk for overheating and heat stroke — even during short periods outside. 🐶💨

Because of their shortened airways, these pets cannot cool themselves as efficiently as other breeds. Oklahoma heat and humidity can quickly become dangerous.

🐾 Tips to keep your pet safe:
• Avoid outdoor activity during the hottest parts of the day
• Always provide plenty of fresh water
• Keep walks short and in shaded areas
• Never leave pets outside unattended in the heat
• Watch for signs of overheating:
🚨 Excessive panting
🚨 Drooling
🚨 Weakness or collapse
🚨 Bright red gums
🚨 Difficulty breathing

If you think your pet may be overheating, move them to a cool area immediately and contact your veterinarian right away.

At Halo Animal Hospital, we want your pets safe and comfortable all summer long!
