🌞 **Summer Heat is Here – Keep Your Pets Safe!** 🐾
As the temperatures climb, **heat stroke becomes a serious risk** for pets—and it can happen faster than you think.
🚗 **NEVER leave your pet in a parked car**—not even for a minute. On an 80°F day, the inside of a car can reach 100°F in just 10 minutes.
🐶 **Signs of heat stroke in pets:**
* Heavy panting or excessive drooling
* Bright red tongue or gums
* Vomiting or diarrhea
* Lethargy, wobbliness, or collapse
🧊 **If you think your pet is overheating:**
1. **Move them to a cool, shaded or air-conditioned area immediately.**
2. **Call your veterinarian right away—even as you begin cooling them down.**
3. Offer small amounts of cool (not ice-cold) water.
4. Gently cool them with damp towels—especially around the belly, paws, and armpits.
🚫 **Never use ice water or submerge them in a cold bath.** Cooling too quickly can cause shock and worsen the situation.
🐾 Prevention is key:
🕐 Walk pets early or late in the day
💧 Provide fresh water and shade at all times
🔥 Avoid hot pavement
🚙 Never leave pets unattended in a vehicle
