🐾❤️ ROCKY'S COMMUNITY ROUNDUP IS COMING... AND HECTOR REALLY NEEDS A REASON TO SMILE. ❤️🐾

Hector is a 2-year-old Boxer mix, and honestly, we're starting to worry about this sweet boy.
He has now been waiting 96 DAYS for someone to choose him.
And lately, we've noticed something we hate seeing in a shelter dog...
Hector's spirits are falling. 💔
When Hector first arrived at Warrick Humane Society from Animal Care & Control, he was a sweet, curious, affectionate boy who loved getting attention from people.
He still is.
But shelter life is starting to wear on him.
He seems more defeated lately, and we desperately want him to experience what life looks like when you finally have a home of your own.
Because Hector has SO much to offer the right family. ❤️
He's affectionate and loves getting pets. He may take a little time to warm up to someone new, but once he decides you're okay, that sweet personality comes shining through.
He's curious.
He's playful.
He enjoys spending time relaxing with his people.
And he's a pretty good leash walker, too! 🐾
Hector has also been cat tested and did great in our cat room, so cats may be a potential match for him!
When it comes to other dogs, Hector is somewhat selective. He often shows interest and enjoys playing, but he's not necessarily going to be best friends with every dog he meets. If you have another dog at home, we'd recommend bringing them in for a meet-and-greet to make sure everyone is comfortable and compatible. 🐶❤️

🐾 Walks well on leash
🐾 Has done well with cats
🐾 Selective with other dogs

Our biggest hope isn't simply that these dogs have a fun night.
We want Rocky's Community Roundup to be an ADOPTION celebration. 🏡❤️
We want these dogs meeting people.
We want their stories being shared.
We want families falling in love.
And most importantly, we want as many of them as possible to have found their people by the time this event is over.
Maybe Hector will meet his family before October 2.
Maybe someone will meet him at Rocky's Community Roundup and realize he's exactly the dog they've been looking for.
Either way, we don't want Hector spending another 96 days wondering when his turn will come.
He needs a home. 💔
