This was Zazu the night before he went home. 🐾
Completely relaxed.
At some point he decided Kovu made a pretty good pillow and settled right in.
What makes me smile is what happened the next day.
Most dogs get excited when their family arrives. They wait by the gate, watch every trip to the car, and make it very clear they’re ready to go.
Zazu had other plans.
Instead of waiting by the door, he followed me into the bedroom, climbed onto the bed, and laid down.
When it was finally time to leave, I had to coax him downstairs.
“It’s okay, buddy. You’re going home.”
Moments like that mean a lot to me.
Not because dogs don’t love their families.
But because it tells me they felt safe, comfortable, and at home while they were here.
