Who doesnt love a Goldie? Welcome to the program Rory! Rory is a 2 year old Golden Retriever who....welllll...lets just say he lives his life a about a level 8 and his Mom would love to see him more at a 3 or 4. 🥴🫣🤭 His good nature is only proceeded by his inability to keep 4 on the floor. Luckily we can help with that! He's started his Day Train program learning both on and off leash skills and we'll see how fast this young man progresses! 🐕❤️

Lets talk SKUNKS!

It's important to know what to do if your dog gets sprayed by a skunk and its probably NOT what you think?

Most people who's dogs have the very unfortunate meeting of a skunk find themselves trying their best to react quickly to a stinky situation. They immediately think, OMG I've got to wash the dog, either in water and shampoo or using the old wives tale of tomato juice. The problem is that once you wet the dog with water, the hair shaft closes and seals in that skunk spray making it nearly impossible for any additional baths to help much! 🤯

We get it! You just want it off so what should you do?

The real way to handle it is to use an old towel and wipe off as much as you can first. And maybe throw that towel away afterwards. 😅 Then get then to the groomer as quickly as possible! There are several things your groomer can do to improve the smell. Nothing will completely eliminate it, but it will be much better. Just don't wet the dog! Good luck, we hope this helps!

Some endings are bitter sweet. Because people that you really enjoy spending time with learn and grow and are ready to fly the nest so to speak and then I don't get to see them nearly as often. And thats kinda sad. But to see them with great skills and knowledge and a healthy relationship with their dog that leaves them with the ability to take the dog anywhere and give that dog all kinds of life experiences it may never have gotten is the realy joy. Super proud of these rockstars. I really enjoyed every minute. Thank you for trusting me with Teddy. ❤️ Happy Graduation my boy!
