🐾❤️ Not every dog becomes a heart dog.

But the ones that do… change you forever.

A heart dog is different.
They’re the dog that stays with you long after they’re gone.

The one who got you through heartbreak.
The one who somehow always knew when you needed them most.
The one whose paw prints stayed on your heart long after they walked across your floor.

Maybe they weren’t the easiest dog.
Maybe they were stubborn, anxious, wild, goofy, reactive, clingy, or completely chaotic at times…

…but they were yours. ❤️

And somehow, without realizing it, they became part of your story.

If you’ve had a heart dog…
tell me about them below. ⬇️

What was their name?
What made them so special?

(And yes… photos are absolutely encouraged. 🐾)

Mother’s Day reminder from The Good Dog Academy 💛🐾

If today didn’t look picture-perfect… welcome to real life.

Maybe the kids argued.
Maybe the dog stole food off the counter.
Maybe somebody forgot the reservation.
Maybe you cleaned the kitchen twice.
Maybe you felt overstimulated before noon.
Maybe the “special day” didn’t quite feel how you imagined it would.

That doesn’t mean the day was ruined.

Sometimes we put so much pressure on holidays to feel magical from beginning to end that the moment something goes wrong, we feel like the whole thing failed.

But real life doesn’t work that way.
Dogs don’t.
Kids don’t.
Families don’t.

And honestly? That’s okay.

The goal was never perfection.
The goal was connection.

Some of the moments our kids will remember most probably won’t be the flawless ones anyway.
They’ll remember:
🐾 the laughter
🐾 the chaos
🐾 the dog begging at the table
🐾 the homemade cards
🐾 the muddy paw prints
🐾 the recovery after the hard moment

Because healthy families aren’t perfect families.
They’re families that recover.

A good day doesn’t have to be a perfect day. 💛

Happy Mother’s Day to the moms loving their families — humans and dogs alike — through the beautifully imperfect real life moments.

Happy Mother’s Day to the moms doing it all — with a dog following them to the bathroom. 💛🐾

To the women:
🐾 sharing their bed with dogs who somehow take up 97% of the space
🐾 carrying treats in every purse and jacket pocket
🐾 vacuuming fur like it’s a full-time job
🐾 raising kids, dogs, businesses, families, and somehow still keeping everyone alive
🐾 loving hard even when they’re exhausted

This is your reminder that your dogs don’t care if the house is spotless.
Your kids probably won’t remember the perfect decorations.
But they WILL remember how home felt.

Safe.
Loved.
Welcoming.
Fun.
Comforting.

And honestly? The same goes for our dogs.

So whether today looks picture-perfect or beautifully chaotic… you’re probably doing better than you think. 💛

Tell me below:
What’s the most chaotic part of your Mother’s Day been so far? 😂🐾😂👇

🐾✨ MEET GOLDIE — PROFESSIONAL SNUGGLER & BUTT-SCRATCH ENTHUSIAST 💛 ✨🐾

You know that dog that just melts into you?
Yeah… that’s Goldie.

🐕 4-year-old Standard Goldendoodle (~60 lbs)
💛 Sweet, affectionate, and people-loving
🏡 Ready for her forever home

Let me paint the picture…
You walk in the door…
Goldie trots over…
…and immediately tucks her head between your legs like,
👉 “Excuse me, this is the part where you scratch my butt, thank you.”
If you’ve seen Nala do her little stomp—you know the vibe 😂
She is affectionate, goofy, and LOVES her people.

✨ What you’ll love about her:
✔️ Raised with kids — gentle, patient, and loving with people
✔️ Friendly with other dogs
✔️ Cat-tested and uninterested
✔️ Crate trained & potty trained 🙌
✔️ Extremely cuddly

✨ The honest part (because the right home matters):

Goldie is very food motivated—and like a lot of doodles, that can turn into enthusiasm when food is involved.
➡️ She may grab food if it’s within reach (including from little hands)
➡️ She’ll help herself to counters or the trash if given the opportunity
➡️ She has accidentally knocked over a toddler in her excitement

This is NOT aggression—just excitement + opportunity + inexperience+ unclear boundaries
She is smart, eager to please, and learns quickly when expectations are clear.

🏡 Best Home Fit: Goldie will thrive in: • A home with older kids or adults
• A family who wants an affectionate, involved dog
• Someone willing to give structure around food manners
• A home without small dogs

💛 Why Goldie? She’s not a project.
She’s a really good dog who just needs the right environment to shine.

Training is exhausting. 😴🐾

Learning new rules, practicing good choices, and using that brain all day is hard work.

Training sessions may only last 10–15 minutes, but dogs are doing a LOT of thinking during that time.

Just like kids after school, their brains need time to rest and process what they’ve learned.

A good nap is actually part of the training plan. 😉

This guy clearly understood the assignment.

Question for my fellow dog parents:
What’s the weirdest position your dog sleeps in? 😂👇

Expectation: Zen. 🧘‍♀️
Reality: Shredded. 🌪️

If your puppy phase feels less like a coffee commercial and more like a tornado hit your bathroom—you are in good company! This is the "messy middle." It’s loud, it’s chaotic, but it is temporary.

Don't let the hard days trick you into thinking you're doing a bad job. Grab a treat, play a brain game, and remember: progress > perfection.

What is the funniest thing your dog has "redecorated" in your house? 👇

Current Mood:
100% Nap, 0% Obedience. 💤

Sometimes the best "Life Skill" we can teach our dogs is how to settle and relax right along with us. At The Good Dog Academy, I believe training should feel good for everyone—and sometimes, that means a weekend snooze.

You’ve worked hard this week, and so has your dog. You both deserve the break!

Tag a fellow Dog Mom/Dad who needs the "all-done" permission to relax this weekend!

You don’t need a "perfect" dog to have a wonderful year; you just need to keep showing up for each other. You’re doing a great job, and I am so excited to support you and your family in 2026.

What is one "small win" you’re looking forward to with your pup this year? 🐾👇

Closing out the year feeling grateful.

Grateful for the dogs who taught me patience, the people who trusted me with their hearts on four legs, and the lessons this year brought — even the hard ones.

Here’s to a new year of calmer homes, clearer communication, and stronger bonds. ✨🐾
