Up for adoption in Alabama

Sophie and her brother Magnum are a bonded pair, currently in an Alabama shelter, in search of a forever family they can love and enjoy together… forever. You can read all about them on our courtesy webpage at https://www.segsprescue.org/available-dogs-197333.html

They are both 5 years old and around 45 lbs., spayed/neutered, healthy, house-trained, sweet and affectionate. Remember our posts about foster homes? Well, this is an example… if we can’t find a foster home for one dog, there’s little chance of finding one for two dogs. But we’re hopeful they will be adopted quickly out of the shelter… so PLEASE share this post and let’s get Sophie and Magnum in their forever home ASAP!

If you’re interested in Sophie and Magnum, please contact the shelter… their info is at the bottom of their webpage at: https://www.segsprescue.org/other-dogs-to-adopt-courtesy-posts-626375/sophie-and-magnun-al-courtesy-listing

This is Luke in AL. Right now, he's sitting in an Alabama shelter, waiting. Waiting for SEGSP Rescue to find him a foster home. Waiting for a chance to leave the shelter behind. Waiting for the opportunity to finally dream about a forever family.

We recently sent out a plea for a foster home for Luke. And other SE states, especially GA and TN also have GSPs waiting as well (with 5 GSPs waiting in TN shelters alone!!!). Not one person responded to our plea for Luke. Not one. Luke doesn't know that. He only knows that another day has passed and he's still waiting. So are the other GSPs we know are in shelters but can’t help… yet.

Fostering saves lives. We don’t have a facility – we rely 100% on foster homes. Without foster homes, dogs like Luke and the 5 TN GSPs, remain in shelters with no path forward.

If you've ever thought about fostering, now is the time. Luke and the others need someone to open their home and heart, so they can have the chance they deserve.

Please help us change their story. If you can foster or would like more information about fostering, please go to https://www.segsprescue.org/volunteer.html

Please don't let Luke, and the other GSPs waiting in shelters, wait any longer.
THANK YOU!

April 9, 2014 - January 28, 2026 My girl 🩷
December 17th something wasn’t right. So off to the vet, But when Dr Coker called me in the back, I knew it wasn’t good
The cancer came back and it was ravaging her.
My world My everything
Cancer stole my dog from me
I feel like I’m dying inside without her.To hold her while she took her last breath to have a grown man break down watching me grieve over her, telling her repeatedly, how good of a girl she is, while she slipped away pain free , what a good girl, what a good girl you are touching her silky ears and stroking her fur and not letting her go was by far the most pain I’ve had since my daddy died ,it’s unbearable
She went everywhere with me slept with me, was always by my side, always in the back seat her favorite place wherever I was, we had that undeniable unbreakable Bond. if I had it, she got it if I was doing it, she was doing it with me. She never let me down, I love that dog. God let me be a better person so I see her in one day I’m so grateful for the day Chip Bonde letting me have her.
My phone is so full of pictures and videos of her and she’s gone.
