🐾 Pooch of the Week: Gus 🐾

When Gus first started coming to Pooch, he could be a little unsure around some of the other dogs. With slow introductions and plenty of time to get comfortable, we got to watch his confidence grow with every visit. Now, he comes in ready to play, zoom around, and find out which of his friends is up for a good wrestling match.

And Gus has made A LOT of friends. He’s spent his days playing with Bec, Remi, Oliver, Penny, Hawthorn, Juno, Kenny, Echo, Aria, Frida, Frankie, Snax, Biscót, and plenty more. He loves bouncing from one playmate to the next, whether he’s wrestling, running around outside, or just being his sweet, silly self.

Gus is also incredibly affectionate. He gives out what we’ve come to know as “Gus hugs,” happily rolls over for belly rubs, and is always down for some cuddles with the handlers.

But perhaps the most Gus thing about Gus is his choice of napping locations. While most dogs eventually find a cozy spot inside when they’re ready for a break, Gus has been known to simply plop down in the middle of the yard and go to sleep. The first time it happened, it definitely caught us by surprise. Now we know that sometimes Gus just prefers a little outdoor nap. 😂

Whether he’s zooming around with his friends, wrestling during naptime when everyone is supposed to be relaxing, playing with his favorite rope toy, or finding an unconventional place to snooze, Gus always keeps us smiling.

Sweet, silly, affectionate, and more confident every time we see him, Gus is truly the sweetest boy, and we love getting to watch him come out of his shell and become more and more himself at Pooch.
