Sadly, Hurley Burley succumbed to cancer on August 11, 2017. He was 3 months shy to his 9th birthday. He left this world with so many teary eyes and endless heartaches. I am forever heartbroken over his passing. Today Hurley suffers from hemangiosarcoma. This cancer has no cure but Hurley is going for chemotherapy. His prognosis is really good and we are very hopeful that he will win this battle.
His ailment has propelled me to organize my grief and turned it to action. I have founded the Hurley Burley Foundation to help out other babies like him who are diagnosed with low grade cancer whose chances of survival are good. Cancer treatment is prohibitively expensive and due to this some families who have little resource of funding the treatment opt to not treat their fur babies. Fur babies suffer and die prematurely.
